Iso-E + Forest

This forest is dry and slightly rotted, I can sense the humidity that sunk its teeth into the cedar trunks. A sweet-bitter patchouli is featured on the margins. This is not the verdant canopy I was anticipating, but more like a European forest in the autumn. I can almost see and feel the texture of those brown mushrooms that grow in layers on trees. It's all there, I'll testify to that, but I can't totally surrender to this trompe le nez, there's no possibility of suspension of disbelief here because my nose is too aware of the pervasive Iso-E that trickles all over this concoction, like a bad magician who can't quite hide the ace up his sleeve.

JMP Artisan Perfumes / Endless Forest

Endless Forest - a very good fragrance that reminds me personally of, among others, Silvan (Rouge Buny Rouge) - for me it is a vision of a forest, darker forest, where there is a scent of various types of trees and needles lying in puddles on the ground. Yes, there is some moisture there, but also some brightness in this forest ..... from the rays of the shining sun coming in. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, and in this smell I can sense an animal hiding behind the trees ... a nice animal. Another great perfume in my opinion.

Forest scent?

Because of the promising name I have tested a sample, because I like forest or woody scents very much. Immediately after the first sprayer the full load of Iso E Super hits you, actually exactly my prey scheme!
The ingredients Atlas cedar, papyrus and leather mentioned in the top note, however, quickly add to this and give the fragrance a slight bitterness. In the drydown, the vetiver makes it even more bitter and unfortunately also a bit musty. Patchouli and white musk completely escape my nose here.

I would have wished for a little more "forest", i.e. wood, so everything smells more like a musty old wardrobe, which collects in the cellar and which one finally wants to dispose of after years.

Pity, another fragrance that doesn't live up to its name.
