Peter Meets Mary Magdalene
"Ma Donna mia! Was Mary Magdalene here?" Peter sits across from me like a meerkat and is panting.
"What? How? Mary Magdalene? Here? With us?"
"Yes, exactly. That wicked person from Jesus' testament. The one with Christian charity. The one who was later beheaded!"

Peter is gray-striped, has a narrow face, a small white patch on his chest, and a cheeky mouth. Besides, I live with him.

"No, she wasn't. And otherwise, that was Marie Antoinette!"
"Marie Antoinette was here? Without a head? Are you kidding me?"
"No, it wasn't Marie Antoinette who was here!"
"So it was Mary Magdalene!"
"No!"
"And why does it smell so lasciviously here?"
"Lasciviously? Do you even know what that word means?"
"Yes. She has you all flustered?"
"Who?"
"Mary Magdalene! She laid you flat. With her perfume!"
"And that's why you're standing there like a meerkat? So it doesn't lay you flat too?"
"Yep!"

Have I mentioned that he can be exhausting? That there's a reason he's a free man? Because sometimes it's better if he's not around? Especially when there are ladies visiting?

What has shocked him so much? Let's rather say fascinated. Nero Donna. The black Mary … uh … lady. She comes across as floral. With a bouquet of black roses. Seductive and dark. Like Marie Antoinette. He’s wearing me out … (rolls eyes)… Mary Magdalene. The "Creature of the night".
Then she goes with me to the hotel. To the "Memory Motel". Burns after the deed is done. With a nomad. A little Ombre nomad and settles down in her wooden bed before dawn drives the night away.

Blind buy? I’ll put it this way: The scent is a blast! A sexy blast. A frequent sprayer won't be able to save themselves. Definitely not for everyone.

Too Animalistic for Me
Yes, somehow Nero Donna didn't really appeal to me. Although I don't consider the scent to be particularly feminine but rather very unisex, this animalistic note ultimately brought me to my knees. At least the longevity is absolutely fine at around 10 hours on my skin, and the sillage is also acceptable.

The first few seconds I find quite successful. It actually smells of mandarins and red fruits. However, it quickly becomes very barn-like and animalistic. A hefty dose of castoreum, oud, and civet comes through. The heart note continues in this direction. This animalism then pairs with rose water and a good amount of incense. In the base, this animalism seems to intensify. I don't know why I perceive Nero Donna so intensely. Additionally, I recognize oriental spices and a strong leatheriness. Guaiac wood and sandalwood can't save it much anymore.

What a pity... For those who find artisan fragrances too expensive, they might want to give Nero Donna a try. But I still thank the lovely Tina for the decant.

The Black Dance
A cold, foggy street, old houses. Then you hear music from somewhere. I open the door behind which a celebration is evidently taking place. A party like no one has ever seen. Modern, oriental music - a roaring festivity...

This is how one could describe the first impression of Acqua di Baviera "Nero Donna." The first spray literally knocks you over: fine fruits that only briefly make an appearance. The mandarin is very delicate and steps aside for incense and oud - but a soft, modern variant, so that as a confessed non-oud person, I am immediately fired up. The vanilla lays a soft veil over the fragrance as time goes on. A dream that comes across as tamed after hours. Wearable in the evening, but for me, always. I don't need an occasion; I am myself. I have rarely sniffed a perfume like this. New, innovative, delightful, and oriental. A truly welcome change from all the mainstreamers.

Best, your M.C.

A very noble scent, where fruits, rose, and incense initially dominate, but soon complemented by oud, saffron, and vanilla. S/H: good!

If I ever really feel the need for a rose-oud-incense scent, this one would definitely be at the top of my list.

A truly great fragrance, but unfortunately a bit too oud-smoky for me in the first hour.
Definitely not a top note illusionist! It doesn't get more unisex than this.

At five in the morning in front of the Gothic club after a lot of cigarettes and alcohol. I don't mean that negatively at all. I really like the scent!

Fruity, smoky, resinous, leathery. Shameless seducer, quite feminine, but not always ladylike. A truly great fragrance!

The black Lady first reveals her dark, oud-incense-spicy side, only to then show her gentle vanilla-saffron side in the base.
