Yes... No... Yes... No... Yes... No...
In the comment on "Mystery" from the same line, I already described how I came to the fragrances of Jacques Battini - like a virgin to a child. Just as clueless and unbiased, I approached the testing. I'm more of a "feeling sniffer"; I can't always describe what fascinates or repels me about a scent. Sometimes, fragments of a fragrance remind me of another scent, even though I can't find any matches in the ingredient lists. Often, it's just a brief "flash" that usually passes quickly.
"Night Dream" starts off slightly fruity and actually quite nice for me. Even though I'm not a fragrance lover in the direction of orange freshness, I do enjoy fruity freshness from time to time. I also like the tuberose (which I enjoy smelling). And then comes the point where I no longer know if I like the scent or not: a yogurt- or buttermilk-like smell slowly creeps in for me. A bit reminiscent of food. I own, among others, the perfume "Crystal Noir" by Versace, and I feel similarly about it; the scent constantly reminds me a bit of a delicious curry, perhaps due to the coconut, as it's not really a gourmand scent for me. But I do like it at certain times.
With "Night Dream," it's different. For hours, I don't know whether to say yes or no. When I bought the scent, I sprayed it in the store and initially dismissed it. But then I thought: give it a chance! However, during my current testing over several days, I again feel the same urge - to get rid of it as quickly as possible - no, should I not keep it after all???
For this reason, I will not evaluate it for now, as I (aside from my inner conflict) cannot say whether I find it well-made or not. I need to think about it a bit longer - and test it!
Oh yes, the further scent development: the patchouli does not come into play for me (thank God!). After the hours of yogurt-/buttermilk smell, the fragrance ends with a nice warm and soft finish that lingers for quite some time. During the last test, I just thought: couldn't we simply switch off the hours in between? That would be nice!
