When mine was no longer mine
I report on my 2020 purchase.

Who does not know it... Since one stands in the perfumery of his confidence and sees this dominant, red bottle... in the head you already grind out how the fragrance smells, if only he would smell like the flanker looks.... So I go to the Tom Ford booth consultant with high expectations and ask her to give a few sprays on a test strip.... UUUUAND WHOOSH!!! It happened... From about three feet away I smelled paradise made of cherries.... i haven't been around long enough to accurately describe the scent. I would say it smelled like those cherry lollipops you had back in the day. Only much more intense! It was sexy, powerful, radiant. I picture myself wearing dark clothes and this scent.... Serious, serious, aloof, yet warm and familiar.... So...No sooner said than done, bought.

On the same day in the evening, my girlfriend quite proudly presented my new acquisition.... She was thrilled! I of course overjoyed. What I had not yet considered at the time... This fragrance is unisex. For men and women... so maybe even for me and my girlfriend...So just for my girlfriend. She liked the perfume so much, a few days later she seized it and took it home with her. Luckily I had ordered pocket atomizers a few weeks before and was able to get the bottle back through that.

Surprisingly, I find the fragrance not only on me fantastic, but also on my girlfriend. I catch me every time anew, as I sniff at her. Even if I wear the fragrance myself. In the meantime, it has become our "signature pair fragrance" that we usually wear when we are on the road together.

As for the last comments on durability, all I can say is.... 3 sprays in the morning, then to work, meet friends, to bed in the evening and oh what is there? Lost Cherry. Shelf life monster!

This was my first review, so please be gracious with me :)

Kind regards
Markus

I don't know what they were thinking at Tom Ford...
"Hey guys. I've got a brilliant idea!"
"What's that, Tom?"
"What if we make a really great cherry perfume?"
"Yeah, sounds good to me. Go on?"
"Of course we'll make it totally expensive. And the perfume will smell absolutely bombastic for the first 5 minutes."
"Five minutes?"
"Yes, that's right, 5 minutes. That's where the name comes in."
"And what would that be?"
"Lost Cherry!"
"Lost innocence?"
"No, Lost Cherry. Do you check it? We're making a cherry perfume that doesn't even smell like cherry after a few minutes! Lost Cherry!"
"Genius!"

That's about how I imagine this perfume came about, or something like that. Don't get me wrong - I love it to death. But it just doesn't last. I sprayed it on myself several times. I wanted to love it. But at this price? 5 minutes? Possibly it's my skin chemistry, but I don't smell anything more than a light cloud of marzipan after a few minutes. You can't really describe a scent progression other than totally delicious, sweet cherry paired with cherry liqueur in the first 2-3 minutes, which is then followed by said marzipan scent cloud for maybe half an hour. I'm also looking for a long time for a dupe that lasts at least a few hours and not identical, but at least so similar smells - I bought me Lolita Lempicka Sweet, which does not really resemble him, but smells like cherry and lasts, for a fraction of the price.

If I win the lottery someday, I will definitely buy it and re-spray it every 5 minutes. Until then, I'm afraid I'll have to keep looking for alternatives. :(

"Lost" money, or TF is taking money out of your pocket
Maybe one or the other will not agree with me, but the Private Blend is damn good. The fragrances are in high demand, and good Mr. Ford is getting a great deal for it. Yes, many will nod their heads: the prices are really anything but humane, if not outrageous. You might think twice about spending the money. And you know, in most cases you actually do it - it's so hard to resist.

Lost Cherry has been on everyone's lips since the beginning. Some said that the fragrance was a joke: how can such a simple unspectacular water cost so much money? Others praised it and described it as "the best cherry in the history of perfume". So opinions are extremely bipolar. Who should you believe? The answer is simple: yourself or your own nose. After all, these differences of opinion are due to the peculiarities of each person. After all, each of us has a different skin chemistry, different scent perception, etc...
So I have tested the fragrance and would like to share my impressions with you here.

The fragrance starts with juicy cherry (of course I'm not surprised, because this was promised on the bottle label). It could also be cherry compote (not meant negatively), because it is already very sweet. But it won't be too sweet - a slight alcoholic note prevents it from turning into cherry jam. The almond steps onto the stage and the magic begins... OMG, this combination of cherry liqueur and almonds is simply heavenly! But it goes on: after a while roasted tonka bean, Peru balsam and woody notes join in. You can't always smell every component in a fragrance. But here I can actually perceive them almost all individually. Only the Rose and Jasmine mentioned in the pyramid of fragrances I have forgotten to put in the bottle (Lost Jasmine and Lost Rose; I can live with that ;-) ). The Tonka bean really smells roasted, I have never known anything like it. The woods and Peru balsam form a beautiful base - heavenly. I can hear this base for about 6 hours on my skin, relatively close, until the scent fades away. And again and again I catch myself sniffing at my crook of my arm. Mmmmhhh.
Mr. Ford, I'm lost. Or rather, I'm in love? Either way, I'm in love... Lost cherry has done it to me, and the corresponding amount goes into Mr. Ford's pocket

The Red Priestess
Who doesn't know it among us perfumers. Unfortunately, our partners do not always share our passion for fragrances, and so you are more likely to meet with incomprehension if you end up in a perfumery while walking around town. Every now and then, however, one encounters a pearl among the fragrances, which is met with great enthusiasm by both. Therefore, I would like to dedicate this comment today to a scent that unfortunately does not adorn my collection. And probably never will. Nevertheless, this fragrance is incredible
About a year ago I got the "order" from my girlfriend to choose a fragrance for her. Of course I was happy to take on this task and since many women's designer fragrances are simply too flowery, sweet and pompous for me, I looked a little to the left and right of the mainstream. In the store I came across this red bottle, which looked super chic and provocative. Lost Cherry, hm, sounds interesting. So I looked at Parfumo for the notes and figured that this fragrance could stand a lady very well. So I sprayed it on and I was immediately blown away. For the Game of Thrones fans among us, a little association: in my head was immediately the image of Melisandre.

A creamy cherry liqueur, enveloping, warm and sexy lies on a bed of sweet bitter almond aroma. In the back room, a little bit of cigar smoke wafts over. It is already dark outside and the lady puts on her most beautiful blood-red dress. That's the image I associate with this scent. Smoke is not listed, but nevertheless I perceive a subtle smoky facet. The cherry note runs through the whole fragrance and is easy to melt away.

I see the scent primarily on a woman. So sexy, wicked, yet stylish. Not too obtrusive, thanks to the moderate sillage and durability. I get into raptures again...

The special something
There are scents that are undoubtedly masculine, period. And there are others who are female, done. Then there's the "unisex" section, which I find dubious and which I don't know much about, because most perfumes tend to be more masculine or feminine. TF lost cherry is actually such a unisex thing for me, although I rather see men with a shaken sense of self-confidence wearing this scent.

Cut the cap and start spraying. Toe to toe!!!!!!! My first impression was that you fell into a whirlpool filled to the brim with sour cherries, which burst when you fell into the pool and then poured over me. Cherry, sour cherry, the whole in the third potency and in addition a lot of cherry liqueur and syrup. Wow. Wow. First let it sit down, try to clear your head or nose, wipe your mouth and go on. After the first 10-15 minutes the hammer from the beginning (apparently three sprayers are clearly too much) has subsided a bit and there is the opportunity to take a closer look at Mister Ford's new movement.

The cherry remains dominant, and the whole time quite loosely over 15 hours. Even if the force of the beginning decreases a little, the cherry scent remains permanently present. Much more interesting, however, which nuances gradually come to bear. After an in my opinion rather short phase of the flowery in-between-smells of roses, it then moves quite quickly towards a rather bitter base note. Above all woods and quite finely interwoven with it a resemblance of vetiver lay over the cherry, without its dominance, however, also only rudimentarily dangerous to be able. Rather a very successful combination of tree and fruit. Not listed in the fragrance pyramid, but in my opinion still present: a hint of leather that rounds off the whole story cleanly.

Clearly, this fragrance polarizes. And there will be one or the other total disruption according to the motto the thing is intolerable. I would even understand it, because cherry solves nothing for every day and nothing for every woman/man. Just because of that alone one more point from me for the courage to create something extravagant, something that won't be everybody's darling, wants to be, has to be. A scent that stands out. Perfect in the evening and for going out. Nothing for teenies, preppies, yuppies. More of an established personality.

Durability unbelievable. Sillage dangerous, careful dosage is called for. Flacon unspectacular, known for many years. Anyone who invests in this fragrance has something special at home. The world belongs to the brave!

Quite sweet and a little bit cloying in the opening with cherry liqueur and a bitter almond. In the drydown you get cherry with a nice smoke

The scent definition of bittersweet. However, the bitterness fades and the sweetness increases. Solid, but Lost Cherry is not for me.

Opens with an over-sugared cocktail cherry. As the aroma develops, woody tones come to the fore and give long awaited deptj and tartness.
