Pink Lips KKW Fragrance 2019

It opens like you just washed your hair with the “world’s fanciest tropical shampoo,” the kind that claims to have “real coconut extract” even though it definitely cost two dollars on sale. It’s a fresh coconut with soft tropical flower undertones, breezy and clean.

As it settles, the scent warms up and gets sweeter and woodier. The drydown is where it finally finds its groove. The coconut gets dipped in vanillic amber, the musk steps forward, and suddenly the whole thing smells like a coconut-vanilla body lotion. The musk adds this creamy, lotion-y vibe.

By the end, Pink Lips is very sweet. The drydown outshines the opening, turning a shampooey tropical freshie into a sweet, musky coconut cloud.

The bottle is kitschy. I’m not a fan. It’s much "scarier" in person, but I guess it works for collectors who enjoy those kinds of pop culture “uglies.” Sorry, just my honest opinion. I had to get rid of the bottle I had, it had to go. It kind of looks like one of those glossy, inflated balloon sculptures, like the ones by Jeff Koons, but molded into a pair of oversized lips.
