A spicy cotton candy dream
Chilli Candy Crush opens with a spicy, peppery lemon. As it drys down I start to get the cotton candy and sorbet with the candied ginger. In the far dry down the spice notes appear again. It’s subtly sweet and beautifully blended. A stunning fragrance. I’d say this one is likely to be mass appealing. It’s soft and easy to wear. It could be worn all year round. It’s as unique as I’d hoped for and smells exactly as I’d pictured it would from the notes, just weaker than I’d expected. It’s currently quite a weak skin scent. I have only just received my bottle which came from Italy to UK, so it’s more than likely in shock from shipping and will need time to recover/acclimatise. I’ll leave this to sit for a few months, and come back to update my review if it changes.
Comparing this to other scents, there isn’t anything else on the market that smells like
Chilli Candy Crush. This did remind me a little of Gâteau des Anges but it’s only a very slight similarity.
The bottle is nicer in person. It’s very unique. The lid is magnetic however due to the lid being heavy, it tilts as though it could fall off when the bottle is lifted. It’s a small thing but at the cost of this fragrance I’d expect the bottle lid to stay firmly on.
The only place you can buy this from currently is Art & Parfums Milano, whose lack of communication is awful. Had they just made more of an effort to be open about timescales for shipping, this would have saved a lot of stress. Communicating with them is like talking to a stoned teenager, and this isn’t a cheap perfume! I contacted Kateryna about the issues I was having, since they are the only place selling her fragrances. She was so lovely and offered her help. Art & Parfums had told me they’d refunded me, but instead they just sent my bottle again with no communication. I received it today. Thankfully I didn’t have to pay any import duty!
