Dark Florum intrigued me, I wanted to try it out because people were saying how close this one is to Reflection 45 (my favorite fragrance). However, they are not that alike. Yes, there are some similarities, but they are different.
It opens spicy, floral, a bit fruity, airy and with citrus notes giving structure to this composition. Cinnamon and cloves are dominating, but they have artificial qualities; it strongly reminds me of bubblegum with cinnamon flavoring. There is also a touch of booziness.
After citruses fade away completely, iris is starting to overpower everything in this fragrance. Powdery, a bit lipsticky and sweet. And this is mostly what I'm getting from Dark Florum: powdery iris with other floral notes, fruity sweetness and a woody structure. Occasionally, there are some smoky/tobacco whiffs that come and go really fast. It does have resinous accents, but I wanted and expected deeper and more pronounced resins.
The base is woody, sweet and powdery. Honestly, kinda reminds me of a cosmetic bag. Leans more fem to me.
In terms of longevity, it's easily 8+ hours on my skin, projection is more than average. Unlike Reflection 45, I can smell Dark Florum all the time while wearing it. The blending is smooth, doesn't smell cheap, but with so many notes I expected this fragrance to be more interesting and exciting.
Overall, I'm kinda disappointed. Way too powdery and bubblegummy. Maybe my expectations ruined the whole experience?
