Quintessential Blue - A Metamorphosis
Can you still taste it?
The nostalgic acid-sour shimmer left unnamed?
The hollow whisper of an iridescent blossom?
Ethereal coldness floods the spirit - the bittersweet joy of blue hard candy.

BLU was sold in 2024 at the price of 240€/15ml. 36 numbered bottles were sold, coming at 540ml. Two espresso shots worth of liquid. No more. This comparison is personally particularly surreal considering it is without question my favourite perfume of all time. BLU was made with the intention of capturing the joy of experiencing blue hard candy, which is "hands down the best candy colour." This composition replicates the sour yet sweet candied smell, driven by perfectly blended spring-like flowers through substantial civet. Civet which was partially left unfiltered, occasionally becoming visible as an animated string of darkness, disappearing into the scents soul when shaked. In my opinion, BLU has been significantly under-evaluated considering its unmatched uniqueness. Storytelling perfectly balanced with composition.

As for the scent itself, it opens mildly effervescent. Never overpowering or centric, just animating the scent, providing depth. Immediately after a piercingly and mouthwatering sourness slashes your senses, and this stunning photorealistic cold candied smell, which balances out the sweetness. This sour effect comes from the citrics used, primarily grapefruit. Although the sour blue candy is the star of the show, it is envolved by a soothing mix of spring-like flowers, blooming magnolia, shimmering dense jasmine, glistening geranium. These florals provide a perfect backdrop of what is the most unique, photorealistic candied effect I have ever smelt. Abundant civet is additionally used to blend the florals, which surprisingly gives BLU a signature addicting scent. I initially wholeheartedly believed that BLU was an incredibly mass appealing scent, but the civet, although is personally one of the main reasons I love BLU, is (surprisingly for me) off-putting for some people. What can I say? Can't be for everyone.
As the scent progresses, creamy smooth sandalwood peers out - not mysore - yet denser and darker. Tame oud additionally gazes, slight. Enough to occasionally appear a whiff and disappear on the next, tempting. However I wouldn't allocate this oud to a specific scent profile, rather a colour - blue. A clear synesthesia response to the most harmonious shade of celeste. Contributing to this scents unmatched uniqueness, and fundamental purpose. Showcasing ethereal blue hard candy.
By this description many may fear that this smells predominantly synthetic, hours of headache. However is quite the opposite, natural-smelling and not cloying due to the florals and smooth base. In evaluation I consider this an olfactory masterpiece, and will forever be my favourite. This is such a unique scent and not comparable to anything I've ever smelt. It has opened my eyes to another form of oud use, as well as *perfectly* replicating the smell of blue hard candy without smelling synthetic or cloying. The use of florals is on point, resonating with me as an unmatched spring summer scent through a harmony of icy candy.
