Smoky Touch Toscano Leather Maison Alhambra

Very Close to Its Role Model
I definitely need to write a detailed review about this alternative to Tuscan Leather Eau de Parfum from Maison Alhambra. A great line from Lattafa that replicates the TF Private Blends quite well. While it’s not quite the quality of this expensive line, it smells significantly more luxurious than the demanded €15-20. Here you get this fantastic raspberry-leather theme that was very trendy a few years ago and there were quite a few dupes from the Arab world. Even today, this timeless leather construct is wonderfully wearable and has a very elegant touch. If you like this Tuscan Leather and don’t have the money for the original: this one is extremely good, and especially the top note can definitely compete with the original with its noble leather note. While this theme is not extremely mass-appealing, it is quite special, so it stands out from the crowd. I own two bottles of the old line, which is called Toscono Leather. Now Smoky Touch, but it is certainly identical to all the others with a new name as well.
The old bottle design was, of course, a bit too bold, which was probably an eyesore for Tom Ford. Be that as it may, the new bottles with the same content do the job just fine. They may not be real eye-catchers, but the fragrances are definitely worth it. Currently, you can get 80ml for around €15, which is fantastic.
The scent starts off just like the original, with hardly any differences noticeable in the top note. A layperson would certainly be completely overwhelmed trying to find the original here. However, this leather-raspberry opening is extremely successful. A slight tobacco note with subtly dark vibes also spreads. This leather-raspberry combo with a hint of saffron spice is particularly prominent in the first hours, and other notes do not come through. As it progresses, soft woods gently mellow this a bit. There’s also a very mild sweetness in the background, which pairs wonderfully with the soft leather. It’s already a lovely mild DNA that can make a powerful impression, especially in the evening, with this luxurious leather craftsmanship. The first hours are somewhat more special, like the original, and the base becomes noticeably softer and more sensual as usual. The differences to the original are rather small at first; the original has more power and a bit more depth towards the end. However, the price difference in this amount is never justified, so this brand delivers once again. If you don’t need this TF status symbol, you can make a good catch here.
The performance is really strong, and this one impresses with many hours of longevity, and the sillage of the top note is very strong and leaves an impression. This is most suitable for the evening, but it’s also not completely wrong for everyday wear.
I like this entire line from Alhambra. It’s already a great alternative if you don’t want to venture into the three-digit € range. Thumbs up!
