Not impressed
I've never smelled Tuscan Leather, so can't compare. Suede et Safran opened for me with a big burst of leather, even though it's not a top note. It then evolved within seconds with the leather pulling back and a green accord popping up followed by a somewhat sweet floral accord which I assume was the ambrette. Really kinda amazing how the scent evolved within about 15 seconds. Finally, the sweetness pulled back somewhat and everything started to settle down into a dry, suede type scent with the saffron. I didn't get any ginger. Longevity was very good while the projection was more average.

Overall, didn't really care for it. Seemed kinda flat; not much there.

Marrakech vibes
We are in Morocco, in Marrakech, a city where a highly prized type of leather is produced: the Moroccan.
With this postcard Suede et Safran, "suede and saffron," wants to pay tribute precisely to the artisans who create this uniqueness.
Leather and saffron is one of the accords I most appreciate in artistic perfumery: the roughness and toughness of leather is blended with saffron from Iran, which softens it almost to the point of mellowing.
Ginger and ambrette seeds, finally, contribute a spicy hint to the composition and make it very elegant and perfectly wearable.

Suede et safran
Composition that basically the smell is suede and saffron, all accompanied by ginger and musk.
Taking advantage of the fact that it is a bit cold today, I dress with her.
If you find an offer and you like leather fragrances, don't hesitate.

No chance acquaintance
Suède et Safran is one of those fragrances that you, or at least I, immediately know of in this compilation. Nevertheless, I had to ponder for a long time and also try again the search function in relation to the two main actors leather and saffron.

Of course there are plenty of them and finally I came up with them. But I still want to keep the tension a little longer and ... or scent family members later betrayed.

What struck me about Suède et Safran, in addition to this somewhat softly rinsed leather frame and the very restrained saffron, is this underlaid fruity note, which is not specified, but which can have some berry qualities.

Or is it even a woody peach note or peachwood? Nah, more like currants, if not raspberries. And at the latest here it could ring with some, because the resemblance to Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford is not to be rejected (unless my bottling is contaminated with something else). However, the Tuscan Leather in question is at the same time coarser from the leather and I mean also more recognizable from the saffron and just has this smooth raspberry note as cultivated counterpoint, while Suède et Safran plays at the edge of the artificial as well as slightly penetrating.

Well, the fragrance is made harmonious, but at the same time very linear and therefore a candidate that can become annoying with time, especially since the shelf life goes to extremes.

And when I see what Nishane is calling for prices ... everyone should think his own way.

On the other hand, I wonder what would have happened to Suède et Safran if more (the promised) ginger had really set the tone.

Elegant leather
Suède et Safran is my third fragrance from Nishane - and I'm sure it won't be my last.
I like the presentation of the fragrance: high-quality cardboard packaging, lined with fabric on the inside and a really great bottle. The whole thing exudes class without being over the top.
And then the fragrance itself.
As soon as I spray it on, there are very brief, slightly smoky notes, which are replaced after just a few seconds by a mild sweetness with a gentle spiciness.
This sensation remains for some time before light suede emerges and gradually takes over.
And then Suède et Safran has arrived where it wants to be: it is a pleasant, rather elegant companion throughout the day or evening. It achieves a good balance: it is present without ever becoming intrusive.
The suede/leather note remains very clearly in the foreground, supported by spicy - but definitely rather light - notes that make Suède et Safran quite wearable in summer, even if I see it more on cooler days and evenings.
It is definitely an all-rounder: not "over the top" at work and not "underdressed" in the evening.
I like the fact that it is an almost pure leather fragrance, without any exaggerated sweetness or fruity notes - and yet it is so completely different from Louis Vuitton's Nouveau Monde.
Personally, I don't find it artificial at all and think it deserves a test.

Very linear and to the point. Saffron-leather accord from top to bottom; certainly a great performer, but quite bland.

Very soft and mild leather. Moderate fine spiciness makes it suitable for everyday use without making it appear heavy, edgy or even trivial.

Very well made soft leather and Saffron, basically the dance of those notes. Even if I love to wear many masculine scents this is too much.

Shades of Tuscan Leather, but the raspberry/fruitiness is implied & not actually showcased. A very average interpretation of the profile.
