Activate perfumo radar - Mission: Fine cologne / #Mission2
Now another official mission - with some After Shaves must and will have to turn on yes the Parfumo radar mentioned by me, nevertheless, these fall under aftershave journey - thus I welcome to the second official mission and your investment would be 2 to 3 euros subsequently - even if the fragrance should not agree (I can imagine little, but well ...) he makes himself decoratively quite well.

As I read through the FvSpee review, I then ordered this fair inexpensive treasure - and I may not write such ingenious reviews but I also hope with my writer activities to inspire, in any case, I do not want to send off such an AI generated soulless review, I mean increased to read something like that, and there I like to hold against - I do it possibly not quite perfect, but with heart and sincerity (that's what it comes down to).

When I opened the bottle I was surprised for the time being, because when sniffing the bottle directly, the content was not fine, but loud, slightly aggressive perhaps, in any case a Neroli, which seeks attention and since I thought that the 4711 classic but fine to seem to be, it is something tuned and calmer, for the first moment.

The first impression was not disturbing, because I like Neroli very much, it can not quite understand for me that you do not like it, but taste is varied.

But on the skin we have a completely different behavior, while at the 4711 the Neroli bangs, this pulls here fine and sensitive in the background and remains further in the appearance, fine is also here an increasing fruity sweetness with a discreet smoke in the background, quite minimal, barely perceptible balanced in a harmonious herb-citrus warm combination.

Sillage and durability are now not the main players, even compared to the 4711 classic, here it's more about the pleasure for itself - just when you want an awakening moment just bathe in it a little - or after the bath treat yourself to the fun for 2 - 3 euros.
Nevertheless, it is an alternative or supplement - for 4711 fans and less fans or anyone who is open and wants to scent himself times at short notice.
Thank you for reading - remains fine-sensitive.

Colonia instead of Corona. No. 3: Germany.
The cologne (or eau de Cologne) is a German invention. Although I'm not overly nationally conscious (I like to sail under changing third flags, at the moment under Laotian ones), I think it's a nice thing that a whole fragrance, a whole olfactory genre, is named worldwide after a German city (even if it was founded by the Romans). That's something.

The fact that a certain Italian by the name of Farina is said to have been the godfather of the invention of cologne in Cologne, according to reports of which it is not exactly known which part of it is true and which legend, and that the tincture first became known in Latin as "Aqua Mirabilis" (for example: "miracle water"), does not take anything away from the patriotic joy, but rather gives it the final touch. This applies to inventions no less than to the "great Germans", for whom I find it particularly charming when they bring a little foreign flair to the table, such as Theodor Fontane with his French roots or Sibel Kekilli with her Turkish roots. Whereby both of them, you might forgive me for that, I like them both very much, compared to the Eau de Cologne worldwide seen at best (!) are B-celebrities.

This previously uncommented Cologne is particularly German. And by that I mean less the Gothic textura font used for the "Kölnisch Wasser" lettering on the label (probably unchanged since 1938), which is sometimes considered "typically German". But rather... - but maybe I'll introduce the fragrance itself first.

"Maravilla Kölnisch Wasser" is recognisably based on the 4711 basic recipe, but avoids its harshness and excesses. The characteristic bergamot-neroli combination is unmistakable, but weakened and smoothed compared to the original, making this product a "gluten-free" substitute, so to speak, for those who would like to like 4711 in itself but get a headache from it. What's more, this water is much more lemony and a little bit sweeter than the rough Muelhens-Ur-Cologne. I also think I can detect a very slight peppermint hint. Because of the soft, light citric, this water reminds me a little bit of Harry Lehmann's "Wasch Eau de Cologne", but that won't be very helpful for most of the readers, because they don't know it either. What a pity, actually, because they are both beautiful. All in all, Maravilla looks even cleaner and straighter than the 4711, and despite the minimal sweetness, just as fresh
The durability and the fragrance development is even weaker than with 4711 (hardly conceivable, but isso), but with generous use, when the fragrance has evaporated after about 3 minutes, a really pleasant citrusy-creamy fresh scent remains on the skin (e.g. on the hands) for about two hours. This is such a bonus again that I was about to give 8.5. But what such a simple little water seemed to me to be a bit overexcited. I think the bottle is very nice, it lies nicely in the hand, a tactile pleasure. The lid is made of very cheap plastic and the "pseudo crest" above the Maravilla lettering is a bit silly, otherwise I would have given 9 points for it. For the name of the fragrance I give 8.5 "Fine Eau de Cologne", that's pretty good
Manufacturer of this unjustly hardly (or hardly any more, because the photos here show that in former times there were also gift boxes etc.) known fragrance is the company L.A. Schmitt, which was founded in 1925 as a medium-sized (yes exactly: the famous German middle class!) cosmetics company in Leipzig. The company cultivated several in-house brand lines, including the "Maravilla" line since 1938. Although not only Colognes belonged to this line, consciously or unconsciously the name of the original Colognes was also played with, which had begun its career as "Aqua Mirabilis". The Latin "mirabilis" (miraculous, wonderful, surprising) has become the French "merveille" and the Italian "meraviglia" (locally also "maraviglia"), and "Maravilla" is a verbally horned pseudo-re-latinization of it, which L.A. Schmitt did not invent. Very funny (but probably only for weirdos like me)!

In 1953, the still active founder of the company (my sources are, by the way, mainly the company homepage and the website of the "GDR-Scentmuseum") noticed that the air in the East was slowly becoming too thick for entrepreneurs and moved to Ludwigsstadt in Upper Franconia, where the company still exists and produces today. And still carries the brand "Maravilla". And still the "Kölnisch Wasser" with the gothic letters. Other brands of the company are mainly "Bernoth" and "Elasco", which are both also listed here on Parfumo with (equally simple) fragrances.

In addition, L.A. Schmitt also produces to order for no-name private labels, so you can assume that you have already come into close contact with the company when you use shampoos, hand creams and toothpastes from Aldi, Lidl, Penny & Co (which is a very German thing, I hardly know from abroad, these private labels of discounters and drugstores). And finally, and I find this very funny, the company also offers homemade brands (this must be something like print on demand in bookstores). And, even funnier, in three versions: In the cheapest line ("Easy & Fix") you can have your name written on already existing and pre-packaged cosmetics and in the most expensive one (called "Variable & Unique" [which Fittleworth certainly likes, harhar]) you can have your own products mixed individually with the company's own chemists.

I don't know where you can buy this basically likeable cologne in the wild. I ordered it directly from the manufacturer, they have a very user-friendly online shop, everything very well organized and very smooth. The 50 ml bottle of this fragrance costs an incredible 2.99 euros.
