Mr. Meleg, what is there by you?
Did you get a slap on the wrist for that difficult-to-kill animal thing?
Don't worry, it's still in here, the animalics in the dermusk; it's a good deal, but don't ask for sunshine. And Honey is in there too, but you can't smell it until you read the sticker, the label, again very carefully. Then you can smell it, it's like this, it's like this
It's stupid if you read the bottle label and then you don't smell anything of what's written on it. Then you start doubting yourself (very bad experience), if you were a blind buyer, you might think: Well, it's supposed to smell like that, but if you are for example in a perfume forum, where there are other crazy people who are so crazy to spray perfume samples, i.e. bottlings of your fragrance, into such small vials and send them on to others, as a kind of testing in advance, and then you, as the other, find out: NOPE! It doesn't smell like before, from the bottle, and finally I know what I smell, and then I realize, wait a minute, there's something completely different inside, isn't there? The perfumer must have made a big mistake Then you always think about it, even if it's a completely different scent, and not Honey Bunny Musk (it's very beautiful, don't get it wrong) but 1 purchase would be fatal, because the bottle that arrives then, it might not smell like the sample, and this self-doubt thing starts all over again, and THAT WILL NOT BE ANYONE!

But, about the scent, which has been the subject of my worst nightmares lately, is here, with this text, which, God knows, could and should have dealt much longer and more intensively with the scent of Honey & Deermusk, because after all we are discussing perfumes here, not meant at all; I will probably have to go into this much further later on.
So in my next commentary, shortly, on "Birch Tar", read what I really and actually think of him & you.

Best regards,
Your wife Holle

Animalik goes also everyday life suitably!
I would like to start by thanking Pollita, who sent me this special fragrance - and it definitely is - in the form of a small bottling. Even the bottle shown in the picture aroused scepticism in me, as it actually reminds me of an Indian Jones fan article - a bit racy, cheap and overloaded. But I don't want to say too many words about it, because after all, I never had it in my hand. Many a bottle does surprise you in the flesh and you're amazed how much pictures can deceive you. Why do I write all this? It's quite simple: It's not unusual for the eye - yes, even with fragrances - to buy something, although of course that shouldn't be the case, as long as you don't use it for decorative purposes.

Enough about the bottle, which I never had in my hand... let's get to the scent
I confess that this combination of fragrances is completely new territory for me. I have not yet gained any experience with animal scents, or with those that call themselves exotic as animalistic. Concerning the animalism I shivered a little bit before the first spray. Will I now "smell" of sweat, urine or even faeces? And then there is also this "chypre" in the description of the scent. In the end, all this should smell chypre-like-animal, whereby I see when I look again at the description of the fragrance, that there is now talk of "animalistic-spicy", which in my opinion is much more true, since I did not perceive the typical green-bitter for a second, which chypre fragrances often bring with them.

But what does it smell like?

Sprayed on the back of my hand, I hear a note reminiscent of game at the beginning. Some of you may know it. You walk your dog through the forest, its nose rising, catching wind. A few seconds later, you can also perceive the smell, which your dog saw much more strongly. It smells quite sweaty and dark with a minimal faecal impact. This is the moment when you are happy to have your pet on a leash, because somewhere nearby a fox has marked its territory - a very fragrant experience.
Of course, the prelude doesn't smell 100 percent like fox urine, but certain associations do come up. The cistus or deer musk should not be responsible for this, because everything still smells too hot for that. The suspicion is directed at the clove, which plays its game in combination with other slightly withered flowers.

The fox urine association - and that's just as well - is of course not present all the time. The sweat still remains, but is now underlaid by the dusty-dry cinnamon, while the musty faecal impaction disappears completely. With the insertion of cinnamon, the scent changes almost completely and it is once again made clear what only a single scent can do.
The cinnamony-spicy scent conglomerate later experiences the animal supplement par excellence - rockrose and deer musk join in. For my nose, which is untrained in this category of fragrances, it is difficult to keep the two fragrances apart, because both of them - so I researched - like to appear sweet and have a very "physical" smell. I would not know how to describe it differently. In any case, the cinnamon-sweaty, which is really socially acceptable, is decorated with a slightly creamy sweetness. For the creaminess, so my guess, the musk is responsible. The animalistic reminds a little bit of the body-own smell, which every animal, every human being has in which form also always somehow, however with a taming sweetness underlays. It is simple - and I would like to say this in conclusion before I draw the conclusion - incredibly difficult to describe. In addition, each*r should smell something different here. I'm sure of it.

As a conclusion, it can be said that we are dealing with a fragrance that is not too loud and thus ultimately very suitable for everyday use, where nothing stinks or is too offensive. You can walk through the forest with it without triggering the rutting season early. Only our dogs were very affectionate and did not want to let go of my wrist. And here we are at an important point, to which I would like to say something in conclusion.

The fragrance house "Meleg Perfumes" focuses on real deer musk. It is also very transparent and admits this openly. It is said that one gets to the product, since the animals are hunted for the purpose of consumption. The musk is therefore something like a waste product. Whether this is really true, I cannot judge. If it is, it would still be morally justifiable for me, since the animal is not hunted purely for its role in the perfume market. A strange feeling is still left behind.

Tender - cuddly - beautiful, but not me
All the fragrances by Matthew Meleg that I have had the pleasure of testing so far have triggered something inside me. They're all special, like never before. They manage the balancing act between a traditional perfume and a modern fragrance almost perfectly. However, this traditionalism, which is inherent in all of them, makes them somewhat difficult for me to wear. When I think of these fragrances, I can't help but think of perfumes that were considered modern, especially in my childhood. No. 39 Honey and Deermusk is no exception. A very special fragrance with incredible depth. It not only aroused my interest - no, it enchanted me at first sight. Yet I still don't feel like myself when I wear it. There is no disturbing factor, really nothing that displeases my nose, but that is simply not me, what I sniff.

Melegs No. 39 starts like a typical chypre. At first I perceive citric notes and this chypre-typical sharpness, which can probably be attributed to oakmoss. The prelude reminds me first of all of a fragrance that I never really liked, namely KL. When I was a child, KL was my mother's signature fragrance. Again and again she tried to spray it on me, because she loved it so much. I was ten or twelve years old at that time and preferred to drill in the dirt instead of smelling good. And even if that was my mother's scent, I just didn't want to like it. It was artificial, spicy, strong and just not nice for my child's nose what I smelled. KL is not a classic Chypre but rather an Oriental. I would classify Meleg No. 39 in a similar way. Somewhere in between.

After a few hours on the skin, the fragrance becomes milder, finer and sweeter. This KL-awareness can only be perceived in the projection, no more when I sniff the sprayed area directly. Now the honey comes into play and the musk notes and I like that very, very much. In this phase the fragrance becomes a smooth 10th for me and is remotely reminiscent of my very first perfume, Extase Musk for Women. But it's much milder and softer and much more valuable than the then inexpensive Muelhens. Yes, if he would have been from the start and not had this KL phase, he would have been able to move in here immediately. I wouldn't think about it for five minutes, because that's how he suits me. If I move my nose a little bit away from my wrists, I feel dressed up again. Like I'm wearing my mother's clothes that were never my taste. Not until today. If I wait a little longer, the smell is almost gone.

You see, I'm torn between the scent of it. I'll be sure to test it a time or two, but it's just not me I'm sensing. Just before it disappears, it shows me a side that I love through and through. I'm sure this fragrance will find its fans. Many fans! Finally a scent with honey that is not penetrating, like the zoological bee and consorts that smell like honey in the hippie shop. At last a fragrance with animal notes that doesn't make you piss or think of cowsheds at any stage of the fragrance process. It's just tender, cuddly and beautiful. I would love to be part of it, but for my nose there is just too much in it, which has nothing to do with me. It's like a disguise, which is nice to look at, but it is and remains a disguise. I only make a few deductions in terms of durability. It should be a bit better for such a quality fragrance. But it certainly varies from skin type to skin type.
