A Wondrous Flight Mes Bisous 2024

I tried A Wondrous Flight recently and really liked how light and fresh it feels. It starts with a clear citrus note, mostly lemon, but it’s not sharp or harsh. After a bit, there’s a soft floral vibe that blends in nicely.

It reminded me a little of Bvlgari Tygar, but this one is more laid-back and easier to wear. I’ve worn it during hot weather and it felt clean and pleasant. Longevity is okay for this type of scent.

Overall, it’s a good pick if you like citrusy perfumes that are simple and fresh.

A Wondrous Flight is a summer fragrance from the house of Mes Bisous. I believe it is the only one from the brand regarding the theme of summer.
The scent somehow combines various fragrances together. It definitely floats in the Tygar universe.

Admittedly, there are already extremely many fragrances that dive into the world of Bvlgari Tygar.
I personally own the Afnan Turathi Blue, for example. I haven't smelled the Tygar in ages, so I can't make a direct comparison.
However, this DNA is simply known, and thus one can say something about it.

At the beginning, this summery, citrusy mix is particularly noticeable. It feels zesty, slightly sour, fresh, citrusy, and lightly spicy. One fragrance uses more bergamot for this DNA, while another uses mandarin or, for example, grapefruit, ginger, and sometimes rhubarb.

In the original, we have a grapefruit-ginger combination.
In Turathi Blue, bergamot and mandarin.
Here in A Wondrous Flight, we also have bergamot and mandarin, but additionally grapefruit and lemon.

All fragrances possess this certain, slightly oriental-spiced warmth, as well as a woody undertone.

This oriental-spiced citrus mix lasts quite a long time, which is characteristic of this DNA.

When this slightly oriental-spicy freshness becomes a bit milder, the woody impressions, as well as the listed notes like mossy notes, patchouli, vetiver, and even a very subtle leather, come to the forefront.

What distinguishes A Wondrous Flight a little and sets it apart from others are the very slightly floral facets. They are noticeable but never very prominent.
You can feel them delicately, and they give the fragrance a slightly different touch.
The lightly floral accords harmonize wonderfully with the other scent impressions.

All in all, a great fragrance that you can definitely wear at any time.
This DNA just has something. It's no coincidence that there are so many fragrances circulating in the same universe.

Based in Istanbul, a French-sounding name, English names for the fragrances. Well, one doesn't always have to understand everything to find it good. Accordingly, I approached "Wondrous Flight" in the perfumery with an open mind and without high expectations... yeah, quite nice. Grapefruit and ginger immediately say hello, and something creamy lingers in the background. My first thought was "I somehow know this..."

In the evening, I sprayed it again without other fragrances to distract. Yes, unmistakably the Burlington 1819 DNA
The bitter grapefruit combined with the ginger is immediately present.
However, with this candidate, I like the heart note and the drydown a bit better than the original. On one hand, the notes play beautifully towards a more woody-leathery-creamy finish, and on the other hand, I find the longevity here a bit better; this refreshingly bitter note wafts through the nose for a long time.

The packaging and bottle are definitely visually appealing. However, both are very elaborate and top-quality processed. The casing is adorned with embroidery, and the bottle is painted with a "Smooth Touch" effect. The spray head also gives no reason for criticism.

All in all, a very successful summer fragrance that I can only recommend, even if it is definitely inspired by one or another existing perfume.
