Florida Orange - A Realistic Citrus With Longevity
I’ve been trying my absolute darndest to find a fresh citrus fragrance that sat nicely on my skin, instead of turning to smell like a cleaning product, or disappearing almost instantly. I tried several offerings at my local stores, all of which fled or fought me, before coming across this fragrance in the MITH brand, thanks to Glin Dee Fragrances.
It seems that orange citruses (mandarin, clementine, tangerine, orange) are my “holy grail” for citrus perfumes, and Florida Orange is probably the best citrus fragrance I’ve tried to date. It is a beautifully realistic tangerine, blended with just enough supporting fruit, spice, floral, and wood notes to keep that profile throughout the fragrance’s dry-down. At no point can I discern the apple, cassis buds, cinnamon, or rose that are included. Instead, my nose gets a fresh orange (in this case, tangerine), then the bright, sunny neroli, and lastly a floral, warm wood, and all throughout there is that true “orange” fragrance. I haven’t ever been to an orange orchard, but I imagine this is what one would smell like. The fresh ripe fruits, the blossoms, and the wood of the trees, all in one on a day full of sunshine.
As with most fresh fragrance profiles, I will say that the longevity (while impressive for a citrus!) and sillage are not excessive. I get around 4-6 hours depending on weather, activity level, and how well my skin is maintaining moisture, longer on clothing of course. MITH, as far as the fragrances I’ve tried, also seems to have primarily soft projection; people won’t be able to detect this on you unless they are within arm’s reach.
My only complaints are that I wish it could reach that 8-hour longevity mark, and that it wasn’t being discontinued! I am so appreciative to the Glin Dee Fragrances employee who let me know it was, in fact, on the way out so I could get myself a bottle, when it’s gone, my citrus hunt shall begin anew.
