*The* Oolong Tea for Me
MITH was one of the first niche houses I sampled from, and the first Thai niche house I ever tried. When I sprayed my sample of Another Tea on paper, I couldn't put the strip back down. And when I tried it on my skin, I couldn't get enough. This one instantly took me back to the times I'd spend long hours in the studios in college (I was an art major), or even taking the occasional break in one of the student centers, with a cup of Republic of Tea's milk oolong. It was one of my favorite teas at the time, being both comforting and energizing, perfect for when I needed to focus without stressing myself out over assignment deadlines and failed artistic experiments. I hadn't had a cup of that tea in at least six, maybe seven years, but smelling MITH Another Tea immediately took me back. I flew through my sample in roughly two weeks, just in time for my bottle to arrive.
The scent itself opens with a burst of bergamot that can sometimes hit the back of the throat a bit harshly, if I breathe in during application (oops), but it quickly softens into a beautiful, smooth, realistic oolong tea with jasmine. The sandalwood and musk underneath are soft and supportive, letting the tea and jasmine do most of the work. As with most tea fragrances I've tried, this one usually fades off anywhere from 4-6 hours on the skin depending on activity level, weather, etc., but it can last for *days* on clothing, to the point that if I've worn a cardigan and this perfume on say, Monday, I can still pick up the scent on Wednesday, sometimes even Thursday, and it locks me in to wearing Another Tea if I re-wear that cardigan. Which, with how much I adore this scent, isn't a problem. Because it isn't a complex or heavy scent, I feel confident that this can be worn any time of year, no matter the weather, and find it to be an incredibly easy reach. The only time I would *not* recommend wearing this scent is if you plan to be exerting yourself; I'm not entirely certain if it's the bergamot or the musk, but something in this doesn't play nice once I've gotten a bit sweaty. Found that out the hard way this past summer; thankfully I was home so I could just wash off!
If you enjoy oolong tea, jasmine notes, or even green tea (as I've recently tried a Japanese sencha green tea that had a very similar scent profile to this perfume), I would highly recommend giving MITH Another Tea a try.
