Yes, you can wear Iris in the height of summer! ;-)
Aequalis starts citrusy and herbaceous due to the rosemary, almost a bit medicinal. Recently, I did an experiment while frying and added a few drops of lemon to the steak, alongside the obligatory sprig of rosemary - a wonderful scent filled my kitchen!
Aequalis starts just like that. However, the rosemary quickly dominates the lemon and lingers throughout the fragrance journey. At arm's length, it smells very pleasant, although it was a bit unfamiliar to me at first.
After about half an hour, the rosemary releases the first parts of the heart note, the scent becomes warmer, slightly powdery. The still dominant rosemary maintains its presence, keeping the freshness alive. Thus, the usual iris-tonka duo can still be worn very well even at just over 30° C. The scent never turns musty; the tonka comes across as rather herb-sweet and leads, with the iris soon dominating, into the base note. In the end, the fragrance fades out quite closely with a woody-herb-sweet and pretty cozy finish.
Aequalis somewhat follows the lead of Eau des Baux, but is more refined, subtler, and fresher. The cypress scent of the latter was a bit too much for me. Aequalis overall feels finer and more distinguished.
