Paragon Mylance 2024

For me, this is a very beautifully composed, modern fragrance with a warm, spicy, and at the same time elegant character. The combination feels luxurious and well balanced, without being overwhelming
A beautiful iris fragrance that impresses me especially with its harmonious composition. The iris does not take center stage, but is integrated into the overall fragrance composition
Clove, ginger, and cardamom lend the fragrance a delicate spiciness, while lavender and lime provide a pleasant freshness. In the base, amber, tonka bean, and woods give the fragrance roundness, softness, and a warm, sensual depth
For me, this is a very elegant, balanced, and pleasantly wearable iris fragrance with good longevity and a beautiful sillage

Mylance is still a brand that hasn’t quite established itself in terms of positioning. They want to play in the top league price-wise, but do the fragrances convince as well? I wanted to test that... and we’ll start directly with "Paragon | Mylance," which has a fantastic rating. Well, I can’t/won’t give it a 9.0, but the fragrance is still well made! Let's get into it:

- The fragrance opens surprisingly invigorating; a beautiful, clear lime, paired with a lovely spice blend, ginger and coriander; beautifully woven into a dry, slightly sharp texture. Somehow fresh, but high-quality; not this sporty citrus freshness, but with a certain classic DNA, serious yet playful.

- As it develops, the fragrance has a nice depth, the iris connects here, giving the scent a powdery transition without making it feel feminine, a clean character that is wonderfully complemented by lavender. The labdanum and cistus give the heart a lovely resinous DNA, but not outdated, rather modernly interpreted. In the drydown, the woody-masculine notes emerge, smoothly rounded off by tonka bean and amber, with the balsam resonating significantly and giving it a nice special character; balsamic, woody warm.

Paragon is a brilliant companion for the modern, confident man who knows what he wants. Clean, special, and yet with edges and corners. Why not a 9.0? Well, this balsamic note is indeed special and beautiful, but for me, it's just a tad too much :)
