Christmas Eve with Mr. Cavalli
Roberto Cavalli Essenza was under our Christmas tree this year.
I was very curious, as I only know the Her from the Cavalli house but not the original.
The first impression was very positive. The packaging may seem a bit cheap, but the bottle appears all the more noble and high-quality. Especially the cap is very well made.
Since I already liked the look, I generously doused my wrist with the perfume.
Tentatively, I smelled my wrist. It starts with a generous portion of bitter almond.
Yep, definitely bitter almond and very authentic! It really smells very elegant and not overloaded or too sweet. It truly resembles the bitter almond aroma used for baking. Just not as intense as the aroma, but a bit more delicate.
I quite like this beginning!!
Slowly but surely, the orange blossom joins the bitter almond. Bitter almond and orange blossom flow wonderfully into each other, like liquid gold. From there, the golden presentation of the perfume makes sense.
Neither bitter almond nor orange blossom competes for dominance with me. They simply go hand in hand towards the base.
Upon reaching the base, vanilla makes its presence known. However, it also does not want to take center stage but remains subtly in the background.
This scent accompanied me wonderfully during Christmas Eve.
It was not overly sweet, very elegant, and matched perfectly with the crème brûlée. But especially well, it complemented the golden decorations of the tree and the table :)
It held up bravely throughout the evening, and even the next morning, I could still faintly smell it. The longevity really surprised me positively!
I certainly enjoyed the gift! I probably won't wear it daily, as the sillage is quite pronounced, but on special occasions, I would love for it to accompany me.
Especially for fancier occasions! Although it would also work quite well for celebrations...
(And it reminds me more of Grain de Soleil by Fragonard)
