surprise slay

I originally only got this to show support to the creator Naomi Jon. I didn't expect to love this as it is very cheap and only available in drug stores, but my prejudice got nuked when I tried this out.

It's a great perfume, what can I say. It starts off alcoholy and synthetic, but that quickly fades and it turns into a woody, spicy and slightly sweet scent that's great for a night out. And it lasts for long. Overall great value for money, I paid 19,99€ for 50ml.

The bottle is nice, very practical and easy to hold.

In the past.... I used to receive a new fragrance from my uncle at Christmas, who introduced me to the world of scents. But my uncle has not been around since 1985, and his widow passed away last year at the blessed age of 95 1/2 years. For a long time, I maintained the tradition of a new fragrance arriving at Christmas. However, this habit eventually fell by the wayside. After some of my fragrances did not survive the hot summer despite proper storage and turned into Eau de Maggi, I actually wanted to take a break.

But then I had to pop into a drugstore to pick something up. As always, I took a detour through the fragrance section and found Bite me, oh how embarrassing, on sale. No tester available, but with the statements in mind, I took a chance and made a blind purchase. Quite brave of me at -8 degrees in the sun. But I simply felt like trying a different, new scent.

It is said to be reminiscent of BR540. Not bad, since I never really warmed up to the original. It was too medicinal and intense for me. Once home, I immediately tested the fragrance and experienced a joyful surprise. This is it, the scent that the three ladies wore at the beach in St. Peter-Ording in September. Thus, their statement that it was the original was, to put it politely, a bit of a stretch.

The beginning is slightly fruity/citrusy, then it continues with jasmine, woods, and a hint of warm chocolate. I don't smell teak wood, but I do detect sandalwood. Together, they create a wonderful blend. Moss adds a bit of earthiness, and musk and amber round everything off. All in all, a wonderful fragrance. Unusual, softer, more discreet, calmer, and more mature than its well-known relative, but better for me. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that the scent takes me on a dream journey to my favorite beach. There is also nothing to complain about regarding its longevity.

The bottle is futuristic and extraordinary. It fits the scent, but personally, I find it a bit impractical; however, it's the content that matters to me.

My Daughter

gave me this fragrance for my birthday.
We tested it a few weeks ago at the local dm and were both really impressed. This blend of apple and orange in the top notes, combined with the other notes, is something special. I can smell the teak wood here for the first time, and I really like it.
I would recommend this fragrance for cooler weather; it’s a bit heavy for hot days.
My daughter bought it with her pocket money, so it holds a special place in my collection.

Solid Perfume

I caught quite a hype about the Naomi Jon perfumes in a Facebook group (DM Junkies), so I went to Rossmann for a small sample.

When I first applied it, I wasn't particularly impressed, but later I started to like the scent more and more, so I went back and bought it. The price is unbeatable.
The longevity is also very good, even better than many other expensive fragrances.

I am very sensitive to scents and can "handle" no more than one spray. :D
Since I find the perfume quite strong/herbaceous, it's definitely not something I would wear every day - unless, of course, you like that.

Today I tried Baccarat Rouge 540 and the scent felt familiar; the longer I wear it, the more I think of Naomi's perfume.
They smell very, very similar! :D
So, if you want to save money, this is a great choice.

First Sabrina, then Ariana, then a horror

It starts sweet, caramel-like, the praline is immediately present and it strongly reminds me of Sabrina's "Sweet Tooth". Then comes the shift to burnt sugar and I see Ariana's "Cloud Pink" before me.
Everything quite nice and pretty.
But then suddenly a very unpleasant note emerges, musty and very hard to categorize, I would almost say old orange + too earthy moss.
Fortunately, this only stays in the foreground for 5 minutes and then becomes almost imperceptible in the background, and once again "Sweet Tooth" makes an appearance: caramel praline just a bit more full-bodied, chocolatier, sweeter, with a hint of wood: a very beautiful blend.
I will wait and see if the horror in between is worth it for the state afterwards...

After 40 minutes: unfortunately no; the musty smell keeps coming back every now and then.
