what went wrong?
Nooo, I had so much hope for this one! But this is sadly... not great. It's very synthetic rosy coffee with a whole lot of alcohol that doesn't go away. I don't smell any vanilla unfortunately.
Also, it's everywhere. I smell it on my daily commute so often and it's so grating I stopped using it in order not to harass other people.

However, the value for money is undebatable and the bottle is at least well-designed and decorative.

Montale on the Trail
And here we go again with some Tik Tok nonsense. I often ask myself why I put myself through this, but with certain things, you just have to give your two cents.
It is supposed to smell like Montale's Intense Cafe and apparently comes quite close to the original.
I myself am not a fan of Montale's intense coffee, but I know the scent well enough. Montale in general. What is supposed to smell similar here remains a mystery to me.

Is it a coffee scent? Yes and no. Coffee is there, but in my opinion, it is definitely too much mixed with alcohol. In the background, there is a very rebellious rose that screams to envelop everything. Very synthetic, way too shrill, the scent lies on the skin. I can’t imagine it on adult women, no matter how hard I try. It has more of a teenage vibe. Of course, there is no depth to it. The scent is simply sweet floral, somewhat clumsily powdery, and distinctly distorted towards the end. Vanilla is added somewhat carelessly, and voila, some people are triggered to buy it. Definitely saves you some bucks. Yes, but the scent has as much to do with Montale as the North Pole does with the South Pole.

For me, it's a grab into the quiet place. The sillage and longevity are also rather weak, and according to my husband, I would smell like a plastic bag that has gotten fruit syrup spilled on it. What a compliment!

Indulgent Diva Desires
Whoa! - - On the skin, this - spoiler alert - super-luxury cheapie has nothing to do with my humble statement...

But wait, hold on; let's take it from the top. First, let's lift the curtain on the truly nasty: Despite a lovely recommendation from a perfumer friend, I was honestly shocked. And I mean shocked by what I found out when I Googled it. Beware, here comes a bombshell, and a dreadful one at that - this is indeed a product that has emerged directly from the manipulative hell of the generations-dumbing-down influencer horror.
Well!
The name says it all, because as soon as I utter even the slightest praise, I will be the villain. In opposition to the most important principles, listen up...
Alone, my old cucumber sees it quite differently and says: The stuff is good.

Quite villainously, the villain has snuck in a hefty chunk instead of the aforementioned tiniest praise.
Hardly anything reminds one of cheap drugstore uniformity, no - not even the olfactory average of "designer." And: Nothing here is teeny-bopperish.

Not cloying, but indulgent, the most opulent diva femininity comes crashing in the form of rose syrup with an anise-aldehydic mocha as soon as you unleash the one (!) spray, which you should limit yourself to, on your own skin chemistry. Craaaaazy...
Unexpected!
Almost classic traits. A big deal for the diva within you. - And, as I said: It hardly aligns with what I sniffed on the paper... There are hints of dark forest fruits in there, and honey in abundance; indeed, one must be able to handle sweetness, or want it quite consciously - you know how it goes...!

In terms of longevity, the villain does not behave like one, but rather disappears gentlemanly after a few hours to make room for other fragrances. Yes, and even the dry down, which so often exposes the cheap, loveless chemical accidents, is spot on here: A calm, mature, admittedly very feminine amber-coffee-vanilla base spreads out, discreet and pleasant, at least when you have used the rogue, which should actually be called "Diva," for what it is - a hefty spray perfume.

The Villain
does not sneak up on you; it comes around the corner with a bang and nearly knocks you out.
I clearly perceive coffee and cardamom, along with a very strong boozy note; I suspect cognac.

The rose adds a feminine twist.
Nevertheless, I would classify the scent as unisex; it is sure to appeal to at least some men as well.

All in all, Villain is a gem from the drugstore shelf that fits wonderfully now that it is slowly getting cooler.

Masculine Smoky
I had a little time to kill the other day, and of course, the cold weather drew me to the nearby drugstore. The pink/black bottle caught my eye, and I already have two fragrances from the brand on my shelf. Why not test the new addition? Which I, of course, did.

First, I smelled a strong cloud of brandy. Not listed in the fragrance pyramid, but what can you do? With the coffee, it was bitterly masculine, and I felt like it was Christmas at my great-aunt's living room from back in the day. It continued on with a bitter masculinity, and smoky notes mixed in. Rose, where was it? All the other notes were now blending in, and none wanted to give way. One fragrance note always dominated, then the other. But it was always heavy, bitter, and masculine. Suddenly, the blend changed completely. It was as if noble pipe tobacco was included. It smells like the apartment of my best friend, who smoked a pipe for years when we watered the flowers during his vacation. Bitter, heavy, masculine, and smoky is the scent now.

Memories of advertisements from the last millennium, when there were still TV commercials for alcohol and tobacco. A very popular show host at the time, who was an open pipe smoker, promoted it.

I find it a bit odd to offer this heavy masculine and still long-lasting smoky scent as a women's fragrance. For me, it is not unisex, but rather a bitter men's fragrance. However, I also find the scent too overpowering and suffocating on a man.

Warm-sweet version of various coffee-amber-floral scents, rose syrup spills over - goes into the feminine. Okay, it says so; but: great thing!

Sweet fruity roses in a wonderful, gourmand vanilla cream with a subtle coffee note and a hint of cardamom. Very nice.

Intense Cafe | Montale, Roses Vanille (Eau de Parfum) | Mancera…for the average consumer, it's the same scent.

A very pleasant cousin of "Intense Cafe | Montale," which smells more floral and less dark-coffee-like, with a great sillage. Top!

Smells a bit like the scent wafting from bottle return machines. Not pleasant! I don't see any similarity to Montale.

It’s just as good as Intense Café! Soft, sweet rose musk with a coffee accent. Fantastic for the price!

Smells like freshly brewed chai latte to me.
As a huge gourmand fan, I totally agree: "Awesome stuff."
