Cool but
First off, i do like Mr.Smelly on YouTube and his whole ethos. I've tried most of his fragrances and like them all but haven't ever bought a full bottle.
That may change.
Arezzo has a few things going for it.
The ambergris is quite detectable and that happens from jump street. In combination with the Cambodian oud you've got a rock solid pairing that works the whole way through.
The plum brandy thing is handled with care, it never gets too sweet nor too alcoholic.
The labdanum/amber accord does, at times, get a bit too "ambery" for my liking but that kind of flits in and out and is ok.i suppose the ambergris could also be construed to be a part of the amber accord, but, to me, it's its own thing, a note that is humming the whole time, a sort of ambergris blanket, along with that oud.
And orris butter! Haven't even mentioned that luxury note! It's not overwhelming, but there it is, waxy and yes, lipsticky, in the best possible way. I like this stuff! It does stay close to the skin but it also lasts and lasts.
Priced about 25% higher than the rest of his line, I do think Arezzo merits adding to the collection.
I'll need to revisit Chypre Fulminare while I'm at it!
