There's a certain synthetic quality that's hard to ignore, and the smoke is a bit harsh. But it's worlds apart from Vicki. I can handle smoke, and since that aspect is already addressed, I rate it quite well.
I see the label as rather sober: concept fragrances tailored to measure. A muted Vicki-Lin at least in the opening. Just less deeply resinous. In between, you get a leathery/floral/sweet air to breathe. The finish: aquatic, cool (synthetic?). No idea, it's the film that lingers on the skin for quite a while. The theme of "from brand to sand on the beach" was well executed. Still, for me, there’s only one Vicki-Lin.
I find the note of maple bark the most interesting because it smells just like that on our little forest trail right now. At least, I associate this slightly bitter note, almost like walnut shell, with it. Unfortunately, it's only present in minimal amounts and hard to distinguish among all the smoke. The finish is a bit synthetic and cool, almost aquatic.
