I Broke My Own Heart Pearfat Parfum 2022

I've had the Pearfat Parfum discovery kit for a few months now and it's been quite a ride. Some scents I loved from the get-go (Rabbit Rabbit) and others I disliked just as quickly (I'll Never Learn), but the ones I've found most rewarding have been slow burns that sneak up on me, like Charismatic Megaflora and now, I Broke My Own Heart.

It's briny and salty without being aquatic, creamy and coconutty without being too sweet or tropical. It's a little weird and off-putting at first, but also addictive. It's warm, cozy, and close to the skin, but still evocative of summer. That part is especially important.

I Broke My Own Heart wasn't part of the discovery set I reached for often, until I hit the dog days of summer and the daily crisis of what to wear that suits the weather without being fresh, fruity, or floral (all of which I'm beyond sick of at this point). This is the answer.

A unique and refreshing take on the fresh beachy scent. The coconut is undeniably toasted, smelling deep and nutty, and the salt in this is fresh and enhances the other notes, rather than overtaking the fragrance like many other ocean aquatics. Feels like coconut shampoo you can smell in your hair still after a long day at the beach, with your skin all salty and covered in sand.

Ditto about the sesame rice cracker aroma. A really nice, warm coconut that isn't too sweet. it also has a clean skin/sweat note that can lean a little too close if you overspray, but i find it really comforting. smelling the coconut body mist in your partner's sheets, or a fluffy beach towel you left to dry off in the sun.
