By chance, I discovered the fragrance in Berlin at The Different Scent and took it home on a test strip. I actually didn't want to try any more cherry scents, as I already have a bottle of Wet Cherry Liquor and a tester of Indecent Cherry at home. Good thing I did, but I also have the self-control of a toddler in a candy store. Cherry on Top stands out from the two previously mentioned, not through any special loudness, room-filling qualities, or the like, but through its round, soft composition. It starts, surprisingly, with cherry, and this note remains, but it transforms from a sweet fruit to a slightly tart touch, making it fresh and by no means fermented. The sweetness and fruitiness here are not too strong or almost biting and intrusive like in the other two mentioned fragrances, which makes it feel more mature, but not old at all. I think this comes from the black tea. I can't consciously perceive it, but I attribute this slight spiciness and fluffy cherry to it. For me, Wet Cherry Liquor and Indecent Cherry have a youthful quality with a lot of sweet fruit that remains consistent throughout. However, the scent from Perestish transforms into a creamy, vanilla-like spice. The tobacco is light but present and harmonizes wonderfully with the vanilla. A hint of sour cherry keeps coming through.
For me, it's a great, mature cherry scent that I've really enjoyed wearing over the past few days. It lasts well on clothing, and the next day I can still perceive the remnants of tobacco and vanilla. The sillage is rather close; it doesn't shout, but it's something for oneself and the seat neighbor. I can easily imagine wearing it with 3 sprays in everyday life and even in the office from late summer to early spring, with more sprays for going out in the evening. The bottle is simple and elegant, made of thick glass with a heavy cap. It gives a high-quality impression.
I would recommend Cherry on Top to someone who may not be a fan of cherry scents but wants to step out of their comfort zone, as it doesn't overwhelm you with sweetness and fruit.
