If it weren't for the musk...

...this would be exactly my cherry scent.

The opening with the proven cherry-almond combination is intensified by the saffron and really beautifully accompanied. The cherry is supported by the sparkling notes of berry and rose and is therefore permanently present without being too squeaky-sweet and artificial. Well, and the base could be a dream: the resinous sweetness and patchouli harmonize beautifully with the cherry, again without bringing in too much sweetness. And now comes the big BUT, which unfortunately ruins everything for me and that is the musk.

Musk is always a gamble for my skin chemistry and my nose. Musk - especially in the base - can develop almost imperceptibly on me and simply develop a nice cozy softness without being smellable to me. However, musk can also develop a sterile peak on my skin that puts the most intense washing powder in the shade.
And unfortunately, the latter is precisely the case here, the musk is permanently pervasive and does not go at all well with the grandiose fragrance composition.
At this point, please don't give me the argument that contrasts are what make a fragrance exciting. Because yes, for me, not everything always has to harmonize perfectly; I can certainly appreciate rough edges in a fragrance. But the musk spanks the cherry on my skin in such an unpalatable way that I unfortunately have to say goodbye to my dream of the perfect cherry fragrance.

Neon cherry candy shampoo

Indecent cherry smells like a mix between a bright red cherry lollipop and a fresh cherry shampoo. Especially the opening feels quite clean, the drydown gets sweeter. Haribo gummy cherries come to my mind. Saffron adds a slightly medicinal, warmer background hum. Rose and almond are here to emphasize the sour and sweet facets of the cherry. I like how they're subtle, but still distinguishable from the cherry. I also enjoy how this cherry really has a sour side and isn't just one-dimensionally sweet.

If you only like very natural smelling fragrances, this might not be for you. There is definitely a synthetic edge to this, which I think is intentional. Imagine a cherry symbol made of neon lights, an inflatable PVC cherry or glittery cherry lipgloss from a transparent palette, and you get the vibe. It's a fun, flirty, not too serious perfume. "Indecent" is a reach. There might be a slight naughty wink to it, but nothing really lewd or dirty. I don't know why BTSO loves cringy names so much. To me, this is like the olfactory equivalent of red, heart-shaped plastic sunglasses. Almost every cherry scent kind of is, but this even more than others. Make of that what you will.

Because I'm sure every cherry fragrance from the last years gets compared to Lost Cherry from time to time, I want to add quickly that I don't find these two very similar. IC is sourer, fresher, colder and less realistic. I do like both, but LC is my favorite cherry of all times, so it's hard to compete with that.

Eh, it's not my thing at all... Being naughty - and a cherry on top!

I was finally able to smell my way through the Borntostandout line, which I had rather "no great expectations" of. And I really have to say: they have something. More than I expected.

I. Cherry is freshly sprayed, the dark cherry full on 12, but the depth comes, slowly and constantly. It's very interesting, there's something about it, and somehow I keep thinking about this fragrance. It's deep, has something "oudy" and not at all sweet.

I think this will be my first fragrance with cherry - yes

Cherry for Cherry Haters

I am a cherry hater. It either reminds me of cough syrup medicine or its so artificially sweet, syrupy, and headache inducing. This toes the line, I could almost fall in love with it. This starts as a juicy cherry with almond. That almond keeps it from being overwhelming, keeps it from just being candy cherry. Then it gets a little lighter and you get the rose, strawberry, and sour cherry. Its still strong and borderline artificial punch flavor candy but not. The dry down is a fluffy vanilla. My dentist also complimented while I was wearing this. She says fragrances usually give her a headache but this wasn't agitating her sensitivities. It lasted about 4 hours on my skin and the projection is good.
