Powdery Citrus perfect for the summer
I was draw to Prisma as a brand because I had heard about the split and that Prisma's formulations were the originals. I was already a big fan of City Rhythm, so I wanted to see what Prisma had to offer. I started with Citron because I really love San Diego. The two are definitely related - kind of like fraternal twins. Same DNA, but each has its own personality. The general profile is citrus-forward with an aquatic smoothness. Of the two, I think Citron feels more put together.
The citrus here is lightly sweet and takes on a powderiness in the dry down. It avoids the sharp acidic bite that turn me off from a lot of other citrus scents. The softness makes it easier to wear, especially in warmer weather.
The aquatic notes are clean. I see some complaints that it's synthetic, but I don't get that. It blends well with the powdery citrus for an overall creamy texture that contains a bit of spice, keeping it from going flat. It's not loud or flashy, and stays fairly close to the skin, but it has real depth and is addictive. I find myself smelling myself over and over because I enjoy it so much.
Incidentally, I think it compares very favorably to Maison Margiela's 2025 release Never-Ending Summer, which almost feels inspired by this, though I still prefer Citron over the others.
