This was my first thought when I read the notes for this fragrance.. The usual suspects are, of course, a must in a freshie: Citrus fruits, ginger, marine notes, and of course bergamot. Hardly a fragrance that wants to hold its own as a summer scent (or tries to) can do without these notes these days. Most are probably already annoyed by the typical 0815 freshie scents, which are all just copy number X of well-known expensive fragrances.
But this one does something different. To my nose, it has a combination of notes that I haven't perceived before. I can't quite pinpoint where this unusual composition comes from, but for me, it is not the typical dupe or the next reference to Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette, Basso, Isola Blu Parfum, or other similar fragrances.
Is it the marine notes that transport you to a beach bar in Ibiza and give you the feeling that a light sea breeze is swirling around your nose? Or is it the resinous warm base? I will try to discover the twist in further tests.
Until then, I enjoy a feeling of warmth and summer with this fragrance in the current 2°C and typically uncomfortable April weather, with hail, wind, and sun in constant alternation...
I don't want to praise this fragrance as the ultimate must-have, yet in my opinion, it has unjustly spent its existence hidden away and does not need to hide from other fresh scents. The bottle is heavy, feels very good in hand, and the painted gradient really makes a statement!
And until summer finally arrives, I will always smell this fragrance whenever needed and briefly (or also for its good longevity) bring home the scent of summer for a day!
