Yum for sweet lovers
When I bought (initially the 10ml travel sprays, very soon after the duo Revolutionary/Revolutionary Noir perfume pack on sale) the two Revolutionary fragrances I honestly had no idea they were dupes and if so, which. Revolutionary actually reminded me a bit of Flowerbomb by V&R and Revolutionary Noir seemed a cousin of Givenchy L'interdit Rouge and like a 3rd cousin removed of its actual inspiration: Black Opium. What did matter, was that I liked both scents.nEspecially for their price points they were nice additions with surprising longevity.

I'll write a Noir review on the day that I'm wearing it - always helps me describe better - but this one is about the pink ombre bottle, or - if you got the travel sprays - the clear spray in the cream box with black "rope" stripes.

As said earlier, Revolutionary made me think of Flowerbomb. That perfume barely gives me the spicy accord that's in there and is in many ways exactly what it is named after. Revolutionary has a very similar sweetness, one that's very hard to pin down. In this case not that strange, since it supposedly doesn't even contain flowers. Still, it has a bit of a vanillic-wood based white floral (Tuberose) to it. I was surprised to read it really does not have any flowers at all, since the vanilla and fruit alone can't create that scent.

Anyway, regardless of its exact pyramid Revolutionary is one of those perfumes no one really hates, but no one will call out as signature scent either unless they don't own many, or at all, or they're very young. Not to say this is a teenage scent, no... much more mature women can wear it too. But I'm assuming safely they probably at least one or 2 other fragrances, or they'll consider this one not versatile enough.

You'll get mostly sweet and the dry down is - once a skin-scent - a woody-sweet with a teeny touch of earthiness (Patchouli). As said earlier: nothing shocking, quite common, but secretly yummy. I like sweet florals or floral gourmand scents, as this one feels, but since I mostly get Amber and Oriental fragrances, and lately even unisex ones, this was actually a tad new to me (its sister, Revolutionary Noir was right up my alley) and therefore *unique in my collection* .

Its simplicity and lack of unique features doesn't mean it can't be delicious. Especially today when constant torrential rains ruined my mood (because: my plans) its sweetness gave me that perfume hug one needs on certain days. And to be fair, now that it's colder Revolutionary actually seems to have a much more addictive effect than it originally had. Which is interesting because I had made plans to move it to the Spring/summer perfume box that would go to the attic since I wouldn't wear it for a few months, being a warm weather scent, staying safe up there in the dark. Nope, I kept sniffing myself like an airport drug hound finding the white stuff. In my case it was the pink bottle stuff and luckily a whole lot cheaper and safer too .

Looks like Revolutionary might enjoy at least one extra season, even if it performs less in lower temperatures on my skin. In summer I got a good 5hrs on my sweaty, but dry perfume eating skin. That's kinda remarkable for such a cheapie. Now, at 13 degrees Celsius it's good for a little over 3, with a 2nd spray sesh before it disappears letting it linger much longer the 2nd time around. Let me say it for the people in the back: on MY skin. Now, usually anything that lasts long on me is a good indicator it'll last long on most, but I recently met people who had even worse perfume skin than I do. And skin chemistry can be a biatch. So never judge a perfume by its cover AND that one opinionated chick/dude yelling it's a beast or a bust. Unless 10+ reviews convey a similar message you'll never know. What am I saying...? You still won't *know* - You'll have a decent indication, nothing more. YOUR* skin is the only indicator that counts.

(NB. Reviews on the Revolution Beauty website show it's truly subjective. Some people have it last all day like 12+, others a full workday, while yet there were also enough users who came to a mere 3hrs, with some having to overspray (like 10 sprays or more ) to get there. For the Noir version it's similar, though slightly more people indicated decent longevity. Sillage and projection remain medium or below for both if you spray the most common pulse points.)

Luckily Revolution Beauty is really cheap and even offers discounts on a regular basis. A 10ml travel spray - yes, an actual spray. Not a dabber or a roller. Hear that, Zara? - is only € /£ 4. That's a great way to test a scent in different circumstances imho, especially since they have several fragrances at the moment, not just the Revolutionary line.
And if you like them: 100ml is a tenner. However, when you catch a discount week you can get two 100ml for €16 and that is truly a steal. I'm on 2/3 of my bottle now and that's saying a lot considering I went a little overboard with my fragrance buying and went from 9 perfumes at the start of the year to just over 60 now. ( Yup: sixty, not sixTEEN. And my wishlist is several A4 long - that's what happens when health circumstances led me to not be able to wear perfume for over a decade. I am playing catchup, lol). Most of them were added mid June (these) and the 1st of August due to some unexpected income. I've actually grabbed it almost daily since the sun suddenly decided to take a break. I wanted that warm hug, but wasn't ready to completely let go of summer yet. The Alien, Obsession or Middle Eastern type fragrances are for when the shit...eh hail/rain/snow/storm truly hits whatever.

Would I buy this fragrance again? Maybe. Not as a dupe for La Vie Est Belle because there are better clones out there, equally cheap. It wouldn't be my advice to buy it as such at all (Red Vanilla by Zara or La Rive Queen of Life are much exacter copies), but as its own fragrance.
Unless I find a sweet edp that makes many and certainly Revolution- Revolutionary redundant, I can certainly imagine wanting a touch of Revolutionary for Revolutionary itself: a sweetness that isn't overly Rose-y, Jasmine-y or Caramel-y as most of my current sweeter summer scents are. Or the dark berry floral-gourmands that easily transfer to Autumn. Besides, for that price it's truly a scent that isn't a waste of money or space when it doesn't get used all the time.

This supposed LVEB dupe has a delicious sweeter accent and it's turned me into a mad for scent 'drug hound' #sniffsniffsniff
