I'm really glad to hear that you perceive it the same way. And I also feel the same about your detailed description. I think I warned you about the rather bold opening. You have to "get through" that, and then it becomes soft, warm, and golden. 💛
At first, I get a bit startled and think, is this going to be one of those popular mainstream saffron monsters? Luckily, Roucel still does it better:
Yes, the saffron is there, but it's immediately paired with a rather dark, bitter, and dry honey, making it beautifully soft. Very slowly, incense and myrrh join in, creating a warm, sweet, delicately smoky tobacco note for me. I can't really detect marigold, but it fits as an association. It becomes beautifully powdery-balsamic. An ode to the color of golden amber.
Unfortunately, the high price...
With heartfelt thanks to @Knopfnase!
A great scent profile, and the name seems to suit it well.
if only the price weren't so high...
