Interesting Facts
Since her childhood, art historian Olivia Bransbourg has been fascinated by fragrances. Her grandmother gifted her 50 fragrance miniatures for her 8th birthday, and she learned how to fully recognize them and decide which ones she liked and which ones she didn't. She is the editor of the art and fashion magazine Iconofly and launched the fragrance label Attache-Moi in 2009.

In 2016, she founded the new fragrance brand SLM - Sous le Manteau.

The name of the perfume house, Sous le Manteau, means "under the cloak" or "secretly". This is because Olivia Bransbourg accidentally discovered a pharmaceutical book from the 19th century at a flea market that featured secret recipes for love potions in addition to formulas against diseases.

Medicinal plants were not the only ones to grow in the monastery gardens of the Middle Ages, but also aphrodisiac plants used to brew love potions. These recipes were only passed down orally and not documented for pharmacies until the 19th century.

Olivia Bransbourg was fascinated by these centuries-old recipes. To breathe new life into them and transform them into modern perfumes, she sought support. That's why she hired independent perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer, who has created more than 80 perfumes to date, including Hermès, Cartier and Van Cleef, and Arpels.

Sous le Manteau's five unisex fragrances to date are based on formulas with aphrodisiac raw materials. They are made in Grasse, France, and are meant to express the ultimate essence of love with today's fragrance language. A short personality test on the website helps customers tailor their perfect formula. In September 2021, the sixth fragrance, Odisiaque n° 6, is expected to complete the series.

In 2020, Sous le Manteau was awarded the Best Newcomer Award by the Fragrance Foundation UK.
