Taro Milk Tea Stereoplasm 2021

I struggled to find any similarity between this scent and taro milk tea. All I got was a tooth-achingly sweet caramel scent. Not even a rich, buttery caramel, but rather a cheap caramel candy chew. I scrubbed it off my skin after I gave it a chance to dry down. I was hoping the caramel would morph into taro on drydown, but no such luck. A rare disappointment from Stereoplasm. Their scents are always hits for me. But I have always avoided their gourmands. I thought I would be safe with a tea scent, but alas, not all teas are created equal.

Taro Milk Tea is my favourite scent I've tried from Stereoplasm!! It's sweet, creamy, starchy, and a little powdery like taro milk tea. The creaminess in this is rich, a little salty, and vanillic, like melted ice cream. Although it has a milky note, it's not a sour and thick lactonic scent like Chabaud Lait Concentre (which I love, by the way). It's more like powdered sugar. As with any indie perfume oil, Taro Milk Tea smells better the longer it ages. I've had mine for at least 7 or 8 months and the taro note is much more prominent now than it was when I first received it. Although the sillage is not really strong, it lasts a long time. I wear this before I go to sleep and I can still smell it when I wake up. I prefer to wear it in the evening because it's really comforting to wear it during a cozy night at home.
