You've got a lot of wood in front of the (coconut) hut!
Another sample from one of the sets came to me from Budapest the other day and today it was the turn of "Soho". As soon as I sprayed it on, I felt like I was standing in front of a mountain of dark, damp wooden planks with a little coconut, tonka bean, vanilla and cinnamon in between and a light breeze blowing through them. I like it!
After that faded, I had vibes of that coconut suntan oil from the 80s in the brown plastic bottles with the palm tree on them. The woody notes then recede into the background, leaving the patchouli, vanilla and tonka bean to take over. There is also a slightly floral note of jasmine.
And the whole time I had the feeling I'd smelled it all before... Yes, exactly! Xerjoff - Alexandria Orientale. Right, now it's the middle of June and it's over 30 degrees outside. It's actually a stupid idea to spray the Xerjoff, but I wanted to make sure. So I put it on the other hand and... well, I was probably a bit wrong - it's been a while since the last time. There are a few parallels at the beginning, but the oud quickly takes over the main part in Alexandria Orientale and... let's not kid ourselves: The Xerjoff already smells a lot higher quality and more sophisticated than the Superz, but it also only costs €130/50ml (as of June 25).
Conclusion: Do you need the Soho if you already have the Alexandria Orientale (or another from the range)? That depends. For inexperienced "designer noses" who like easy-to-understand fragrances, it is probably too heavy and complex. Those who love the Alexandria series will stick with it. But if you are looking for a wonderfully balanced, dark, woody-sweet fragrance, you should try Soho. I liked it so much that I'm going to buy the full bottle - as soon as it's a bit cooler, because that's what it's made for. From my point of view, it's definitely made for men. It's so dark and woody that I can't imagine it on a woman (at most on women like Doro Pesch...).
