A Slightly Smoky Amber Scent
Amber & Woods is a solid fragrance that I quite like.
The word amber in the scent really fits here perfectly. We have a completely amber-focused fragrance that also evokes certain parallels to a magnificent scent for me.
I mean Rosendo Mateu No. 5. This fragrance is a masterpiece for me when it comes to an amber scent. In comparison to Amber & Woods, however, it is noticeably sweeter, deeper, not quite as "rough," and not so synthetic.
Amber & Woods has hints of No. 5 by Rosendo Mateu and wraps the whole thing in a slightly smoky veil.
That doesn't sound too bad and perhaps makes it very interesting for that reason. Unfortunately, parts of it feel a bit uneven, as there is a noticeable synthetic quality present.
In other words, we have a fragrance that carries a good portion of amber, possesses a smoky veil, as well as a certain synthetic aspect. Additionally, it is subtly sweet, slightly woody, and has a wonderful spicy factor with the saffron. Over time, the musk also becomes noticeable. I cannot detect the mossy notes or, for example, orange throughout the entire duration. Fragrances are very subjective, so this could look completely different for person X.
All in all, it is still an interesting fragrance that is not poorly made.
It doesn't completely captivate me, but I would still wear it and definitely recommend it for testing. Although, really, everything should be tested.
The performance is completely solid with a longevity of about 8 hours and adequate projection.
These are, of course, all details regarding my skin and my personal perception; this can vary from person to person!
Amber & Woods is also a prime example of a unisex fragrance. This scent can be worn very well by both men and women.
