Yuletide magic cut short for the sponsors

Surprise indeed! It begins with an enchanted pot of simmering, Christmas-time fruits, fantastic woody-sweet spices, and enjoyably sweaty musk. She keeps an astringent greenness that prevents things from going soppy; and after the top notes settle, it introduces a refreshing coffee note to ward off the post-dessert torpidity. Sadly, it's a flash and fizzle performance. After that bang of an opening, the fragrance contents itself with impersonating Old Spice. It becomes indelibly hay-tinted with empty promises of returning to its original spiced ballroom splendor.
