Absolute Hammer
Kalsa Sakelia is an extraordinary fragrance with a very noble and modern aura. From the very first application, it feels clear, high-quality, and perfectly balanced - not overpowering, yet still present. The scent composition develops pleasantly on the skin and unfolds a warm, stylish depth over the hours.

Especially impressive is the longevity: The fragrance reliably accompanies you throughout the day without losing character. At the same time, it remains elegant and self-assured, making it ideal for both everyday wear and special occasions.

Kalsa Sakelia conveys class, confidence, and individuality. A fragrance for people who value quality and want to consciously stand out from the crowd. Clear recommendation.

The Beloved's Head as a Flower Pot
First, a bit about the story behind the cap inspired by Palermo's flower pots, the "Testa di Moro":
It is said that around the year 1100, during the time of Arab rule in Sicily, a beautiful girl lived in Kalsa, an old district of the city of Palermo. The girl spent her days almost exclusively caring for her plants that adorned her balcony. One day, a young Ottoman passing through Kalsa saw the beautiful girl watering her flowers and immediately fell in love with her. The girl reciprocated the young man's love, but when she learned that he would soon leave her to return to the Middle East, where his wife and their children awaited him, she crept to him while he was sleeping and killed him. The girl cut off his head and hollowed it out to make a flower pot, in which she sowed basil seeds. She placed his head on the balcony so that the man would stay with her forever. Through the many tears the girl shed daily over the head, a large and lush basil bush grew.

Now to the scent itself:
The first time I received a sample of Kalsa at the end of autumn and smelled it, I was quite startled! I did not expect a thyme bomb; it was as if I had buried my face in a thyme bush and rolled around in it. No trace of neroli, lavender, cinnamon, tonka, etc.; the thyme overshadowed everything and everyone! Even though I like this lip flower, I did not want to smell exclusively of it. Even in the dry down, thyme remains present, albeit somewhat less so.
Perfume should be sweet, at least that was my view towards the end of autumn, but with bright sunshine and temperatures above 25 °C, my opinion changed: A fresh, spicy scent now flatters my nose much more than the heavy sweetness I usually appreciate on cold days.
Therefore, it is understandable that in the sweltering summer heat of Sicily, a fresh herbal scent finds more appreciation.
If Kalsa were a little less thyme-heavy, I would give it a solid 10. Beautiful!

At first, a bit harsher. Association with sauna only at the beginning. Later, a pleasantly soft, wearable, not harsh lavender scent. Beautifully feminine.

Powerful lavender-thyme combo. Strongly reminds me of the smell of a sauna where no infusion has happened for a while.

Sweet, fresh lavender. I haven't experienced it like this before. Beautiful, calming.

The opening is a very distinctive green-spicy thyme-lavender combination. It then becomes increasingly creamier and softer in the dry down with musk and wood.

Initially a rather salty sea breeze before it shifts to a lightly green cinnamon touch.

At the start, it smells green to me (thyme), then lavender joins in, and finally, a hint of cinnamon comes through. Very pleasant.

Dominant thyme,
tamed by greenery, flowers, and resin.
Soon my nose clearly detects vanilla (tonka?) - not for me anymore...
