PNW beach on a rainy day

I’ve only been to Oregon once, but it was my favorite sensory experience to date. Being near the ocean on a rainy day, smelling the driftwood, petrichor, salt, the freshness of the pine trees nearby…I just wanted to find a perfume that bottled that smell up. I want to smell like cold, ocean rain. Salish Sea did not disappoint. It’s clean and inviting, just like a cold rainy day, sitting by the sea. If you love petrichor and aquatic smells, this one is a must. A photorealistic PNW ocean, rain scent.

I only have a travel size bottle and plan to change that ASAP. This is a signature scent for anyone who loves photorealistic ocean, driftwood, petrichor scents.

Memories in a bottle

Hats off to the perfumer on this one. What an incredible scent! When I first sprayed this perfume, it instantly took me to the PNW. I wasn't expecting such an accurate representation, but I could have named the scent without knowing what the perfume was. I even had my husband smell it and he immediately knew what it was. We took our honeymoon off the coast of B.C. so this was an obvious full bottle for me.
It's a perfume that can transport you to a rocky coastline with a storm coming in. You can smell the forest and earth all around you, and the briny spray hitting you in the face. The notes are well balanced and nothing overpowers anything else. It's not necessarily a crowd pleaser, but it also doesn't seem to project much. I can spray once on my stomach and it seems to stick pretty close, so I can enjoy it just for myself. It's my go-to when I'm feeling nostalgic.

Wild, wild, wild

For those who want a dark and stormy sea, this is it. It’s very true to the spirit of the Pacific Northwest where the beaches are rocky and slippery with wet seaweed, the air is always chilled and briny, and the coastal forest is damp year round.

The opening is a bracing hit of pepper, rock salt, aromatics and a lily, the latter of which gets blown away by a gust of wind. Marine accords dominate, with grass, moss, and driftwood all making appearances. The composition remains chilly and mineral to the drydown. This is a salty ocean true to its label. Worth seeking out for a less than genteel aquatic experience.
