Awesome scent perfect for the fall and winter.

Perfect for date night or even just a night out with good company. My fiancé really loves the inviting nature of the scent.

Notes of cardamom, fig, vanilla, black tea, sandalwood and smoky notes really make this a more unique scent.

Pair this with a all black outfit to really get a great feel while wearing it. Careful cause you can spray too much as it is a little strong. Make sure you know the situation.

A year long passion that finally became a bottle!

I just love this one. I love how it manages to be so cozy and comfortable and yet so sensual and romantic.
I love how it just fits my personality so well.

The cardamom opening with hints of the fig accord is just so alluring. The creamy and warming heart of black tea, vetiver, sandalwood and rich vanilla is just perfection to me.

The slight smoky pops here and there and the softness of the iris just make it oh so interesting.

Feels like they just put my thoughts into a bottle.

Perfect for rainy days or just when you want to smell that damn good.

This takes the familiar Gris Charnel DNA and slows it down. Everything feels thicker and more enveloping. The cardamom is warm and creamy rather than sharp, and the fig and woods sit closer to the skin with a soft, almost velvety texture. It’s comforting without being sleepy and refined without feeling distant.

On my skin, this wears like a cooler-weather staple. It doesn’t shout, but it has a steady presence that lasts. Compared to the EDP, the Extrait feels more grounded and less airy, with better longevity and a smoother transition into the drydown. There’s no dramatic twist here—just a confident, cohesive progression that stays enjoyable for hours.

In the context of my collection, this isn’t a “wow on first spray” scent, but it’s one I appreciate more the longer I wear it. It’s thoughtful, calm, and well put together, and it fits best when I want something warm and refined rather than bold or sweet.

Personal: 8/10 – Creamy fig, sandalwood, cardamom, and vanilla. Smooth, cozy, and sexy. I enjoy it a lot, but the iris is very present, which is a knock against it for me.
Mass appeal: 8/10 – Warm spice, vanilla, and sandalwood are crowd-pleasers. Fig and iris gives it a slightly unusual edge, but most people will find this inviting.
Performance: 8/10 – Excellent projection and longevity. This sticks and radiates without becoming cloying.
Value: 7/10 – BDK sits at the higher end of designer/entry niche pricing. For the richness and quality, it’s fair, but not a bargain.

Full bottle buy? NO, despite liking it, I just can't get past the strong presence of iris.

Date night? YES, very seductive, cozy, and intimate. Great for more formal settings.
Office safe? YES, polished and smooth, though I’d keep sprays moderate as it is pretty sweet.

Gris Charnel Extrait is one of the more pleasant winter staples out there that features woods, warm spices, vanilla, and most notably to my nose, iris. This smells like a warmed up, rounder version of Givenchy Gentleman EDP Boisee. It's a really hard hitter for wintertime and could work for evening wear year round. I really did like it on first spray, but as it settles down, it's turning into a more powdery iris fragrance backed by vanilla and spices as opposed to being woody, spicy, and vanillic with an earthy, powdery iris backing. I don't love the direction it's taking. That said, I understand why so many people love it, and I know there are many people out there who absolutely love iris, so I appreciate what it is for so many.

A strong, purple floral wintertime staple. People love it for a reason, and I do too, I just don't love its evolution over time.
