Orion Velixir 2025

Orion has a very familiar scent profile, and I am fairly sure it is inspired by Parfums de Marly Althaïr. I cannot tell you how close it is to the original, but if you already own Liquid Brun I do not think you need this one. It smells really good, and on paper it is a little more subtle than Liquid Brun. I can pick out the orange blossom, the caramel and the sweetness. The notes I read are bergamot and cinnamon, then bourbon vanilla, praline and ambroxan, and woody notes, amber, musk and heliotrope at the base.

It is a very sexy, date night worthy fragrance, and you can wear it in the Philippines, but only when it is not too hot, because if you over spray it will turn cloying. I was once at a restaurant with my girlfriend when someone walked in who had probably doused themselves in Althaïr, an inspired-by version or the original, and you could smell them without even seeing them. To me that is too much. For intimate moments, though, I would highly vouch for it. It is something to wear when you want to impress someone, make them come closer to smell you and ask questions.

It is a profile I can stand by, and it is not a bad pickup if you want to complete a Velixir set. I like Althaïr, but I am not crazy about it, and that is where I land on Orion too.
