Very Pleasant & Calm

Comme un Gant starts as a soft, milky, feminine-leaning coconut backed with subtle vanilla, all light and airy. I've been looking for a sandalwood vanilla, but there is little sandalwood evident at the opening. About 2 hours into the wear, sandalwood makes its appearance and becomes one of the main players with the coconut and vanilla integrating into it. Drydown is creamy, subtle sandalwood accented by the vanilla and coconut. A very pleasant, calm fragrance.

Soft coconut water opening, with a sandalwood crescendo

Important to note: my reviews of sandalwood fragrances are very subjective, as sandalwood is my favorite scent note - so I really wanted to like this fragrance...

And yes, I do like it.
The opening is not woody at all, but rather delicate and creamy, you can smell a shy coconut. Zero alcohol/synthetic/other sharp notes when sprayed. You can immediately tell that "Voyages Imaginaires" keeps its promise of creating high-quality fragrances without artificial substances. I also find the price asked to be fair. This is the second fragrance from this brand that I am testing, and again a hit, now I want to test them all...

Now the fragrance takes a turn towards the woody direction, while still maintaining its wonderful creaminess. The vanilla is subtle, in the background. The cardamom adds a unique accent. Now the fragrance gains significant sillage, and its longevity is also excellent for me. In the afternoon, I reapplied, but more because I wanted to, not because I had to. I really can't find a single flaw in this fragrance for which I could deduct stars in my rating. The bottle is also very beautiful:)

I can confirm the similarity to "Santal-Basmati | Affinessence," and that is also the only reason why I won't be ordering this fragrance for now - I already have Santal Basmati in my collection and having both would be too much of a good thing. Maybe next winter:)

Vanilla-Coconut Blend

Door 17 at Pafory and the reviews here are really good. Creamy.....exciting. Then I sprayed it on and what I smelled kind of overwhelmed me at first. The vanilla and coconut unfortunately don't seem harmonious in this fragrance. Yes, it is creamy and the scent becomes more homogeneous as it dries down, and I also get some green dry spice and wood. It's not my thing. I think the coconut bothers me; it somehow isn't well integrated into the air. If the sweetness were gone, I would find the scent much better. I can understand the comparison to Santal-Basmati.

You can do it

I opened the Pafory AvK and this scent was in number 17. The first spray made me hopeful that I had found something that smells similar to "Santal-Basmati | Affinessence."

In the first few minutes, it reminded me of that, but then it became spicier. Nevertheless, it also has something soft and creamy about it that gives a pleasant wearing experience.

It's not my absolute favorite, but it's good for spraying on here and there. Quite suitable for everyday wear and good for niche beginners.

I see it as fitting for every season and totally unisex.
