Nicely green and musky
Deer opens with a spicy and green coffee scent with a bit of musky cumin and tobacco. Did not notice any mint. As it dried down, the woody cedar and earthy patchouli became more prominent. The hay note to me was very subtle. As it progressed further, the leather and musk appeared. Scent remained predominantly a musky-woody-earthy scent. Quite nice. Longevity was a high moderate while the projection was not that powerful after the first hour. The scent retained its musky-woody-earthy qualities for its life. Out of all the Wolf Brothers I've tried so far, Deer is the best. I actually preferred the mid dry down of Bear better, but it unfortunately does not last and most of Bear's life is rather generic. Have yet to try Boar and Wisent.

Doe, a deer, a female deer
My initial impression is green, fresh and musky. So far the most designer-esque of the Wolf Brothers lineup that I tried, I think it is due to the tobacco and pistachio notes since they make the texture a little bit creamy and rounded.

As it develops the hay becomes the most prominent note. There is a barn like quality to the hay, however with the green notes its more of a freshly cut/ refreshing hay like you would associate with hay bales in springtime. Not an animalic barn like you find with real oud.

Fresh, nutty and vegetal green. Has a bit of a delicate touch, more feminine leaning in my opinion. Smells like having a picnic in a field during the spring, can not shake an association with Julie Andrew from sound of music.

The Deer in the Forest
A fragrance that shows from the very first moment that it is different. Not a simple crowd-pleaser, but a thoughtful, experimental composition - quirky and vibrant. It opens with an unusual play of mint and sage, instantly reminiscent of freshly brewed herbal tea. A hint of chamomile rounds off this green-herb freshness before a creamy, slightly nutty pistachio note flashes briefly and disrupts the entire structure in an intriguing way.

This pistachio is the heart of the fragrance - it feels almost surreal, like a foreign body amidst leaves and herbs. But just as you get used to it, it is captured by the musk, which gently grounds the composition and introduces a warm, animalistic element. At this stage, several other accords also unfold: damp, earthy, slightly tobacco-like, with a depth that recalls forest floor and dry herbs.

Over time, the fragrance evolves from the cool, invigorating mint-sage freshness to a drier, green-woody center. It remains consistently natural, never overloaded, but full of movement - every hour it smells different. Particularly exciting is the balance between the green clarity and the warm, animalistic undertones, which become noticeably more pronounced towards the end. The finish is smoky-musk-like, slightly wild.

“Authentic deer scent” captures it surprisingly well: a mix of damp fur, herbs, and earth, yet still familiar and harmonious.

Shy Wild of the Slavic Forests
How strange the forests of the East are, quietly the summer scorches the vast wilderness, mint of the night melts from damp leaves, the kernels of green pistachios crackle softly, from which wondrous roots sprout, trampled into cream where forest floors dry out, where grasses have long withered into hay in the soft mulch of flaked bark, a spicy hint of still warm trails, like fleeting glimmers on shy furs, you brush them softly in a clearing with calm, even breathing on your skin in an embrace.
**
Wolf Brothers is a young Polish perfume house, whose first collection is dedicated to the scents of six different animals from the Slavic forests. The themed animalic, which according to their website is "inspired by the silhouettes [of these] animals," remains discreet and absolutely wearable. I also detect a certain similarity, a signature of the perfumer Wiktor 'Wolf' Wolk, in all the fragrances.
"Deer" opens with nutty-spicy (pistachio), minty, and green notes (sage), which partly remind one of roots or damp leaves (likely patchouli and green coffee play a role here). These rooty-earthy notes seem to create a certain creaminess with the sweet tobacco that subtly resonates from then on. Hay (spicy) meets in the heart with barren bark (cedarwood). The impression of a dry forest emerges, against which soon sweaty cumin, leather, and musk blend into a warm-animalic note (fur), later transforming into a slightly spicy skin accord. The boundaries between forest, wild, and skin blur gently over a long time.

It's unusual and not exactly simple. Creamy green, slightly bitter patch, the right amount of cumin sweat, leathery-animalic...

Mint and sage start off fresh and herbal like morning dew. Unfortunately, the musk kicks in relatively quickly, which feels artificial.

The deer has it good. For breakfast, caraway schnapps with pistachios, tobacco leaves + mint tea. Relaxing in the hay on damp earth under trees.*

Authentic deer scent aside from the pistachio.
Mint and pistachio play off each other like yin and yang.
