Petrichor

Find Me in The Dark l opens with a dark blackberry and a strong smell of wet dirt with just the lightest grape lingering in the back. After letting it sit for a little the fruits have calmed down and now it’s slightly woody but still early earthy, I think Cypriol & Angelica Flower mostly. Now that it’s dried down completely it’s a soft Oakmoss and patchouli smell. This is the most photorealistic interpretation of “petrichor” which is the smell after raining, with added fruits, the fruits aren’t sweet at all the opposite they add depth to the dirt smell and the earthiness of this perfume.

The Children of the Forests

Mentholated sticks
You got lost in the cold forests of the North.

warming this eerily authentic forest floor.
I stand still, after hours,
breathe deeply in and out...
connect with the root network of this ground,
feel the mushrooms...
And then I see you sitting...
first in my mind...
But, I know now where I must go...
know you are alive...
You have a remnant of your tobacco, slightly vanilla-like, with you.
It is foreign here,
and yet it fits in well.
And then I found you,
your foot badly sprained...
Your smile brings warmth,
You knew I would find you,
there in the twilight of the forest,
my brother, my twin,
we are one,
and one with the forests.

I send out a distress signal,
we will bring you home,
and you will first bathe in the fir needle foam bath.....

A scent that is rather quiet for my nose,
with very authentic forest floor,
a light tobacco note,
which I find very wearable.
The menthol note at the beginning is not so intense.
Only the fir needle foam bath at the very end
could have been skipped.
It is exorbitantly expensive,
of which a good part is probably due to the
handcrafted unique pieces of flacons.

Come, find me...

“Find me in the Dark” is a total work of art - crafted with great attention to detail and above all, without compromise. This is already evident in the hand-painted, carved cap of the bottle made from the wood of a 100-year-old walnut tree and the very solid weight of the thick-walled glass bottle. Additionally, the natural ingredients for the fragrance have also been sourced from the finest.

Jousset paints a picture of two friends meeting in a forest on an autumn night ... to dig a hole. And the rest is left to our imagination.

Right after the first spray (and yes, that is basically all I need for the upcoming journey through various shades of dark green, brown, and black), the fragrance opens with an earthy blueberry/blackberry note. Shortly thereafter, the earthiness of the patchouli transforms into a mushroom-cocoa arrangement, only to dive into a pure, deeply spiritual forest in the next moment.

It feels as if I am penetrating different layers of this fragrance with my nose - simultaneously - and it heavily depends on the air (in its nature - warmth, humidity) that touches my skin and the slight change in body temperature that evokes these breathtaking impressions and transformations.

The way the oak moss dances as a connection between earthy pulse and fir balsam is so natural that I constantly feel like I am carrying the forest itself.

Like a symbiosis.
Reminding who needs whom more.
And returning to its roots.
