Imperial Nights
...so the title of this lady, who arrived in the form of a sample. The advantage of these great test packages (*wink* to Ms. Nickhun!) is that I can try the samples without any prejudices and only afterwards check on Parfumo what kind of fragrance it is.
This little lady here is something very special.
She has worked her way up. You can't see or feel her origins. She holds her own excellently among the big names. She offers a lot for little money. (Well, that sounds a bit cheap now and is not meant that way *g*)
The scent is excellently balanced, sweet fruits (I can distinctly smell cherry, but not too dominant), light bergamot to keep it from being too sweet and beautifully fresh at the beginning, and licorice, rose, and iris caress the fruits, no note pushes itself to the forefront, all ingredients are well balanced and mixed together (I have had various unpleasant encounters with licorice in fragrances, but here I could hardly detect it). Only the cherry can be sensed.
It becomes beautifully warm thanks to the base and the tonka.
A great fragrance for little money.
I think that’s worth a comment because this fragrance surprised me. Not a hint of a drugstore scent, where the alcohol note usually takes your breath away at the beginning, but a solid, beautiful fragrance.
And if I didn’t already have so much on my list and so many bottles in use, I would definitely grab this one. :-)
