Salient Observations on Monday, September 9th, 2024

Hello there! It's been a long time since I blogged here; I normally just blog here:

but what I have to say is relevant to perfume, this website, other websites, art, and human behavior in general. 
I submit to you that in both places online that have been created to allow users to share their perfume photographs, there is not one of them (including here, unfortunately) that is fair and/or impartial. A fair and impartial system would cause users to post anonymously, guaranteeing honest and fair results based on the picture's merit alone.  
As it is, both here (and in another, American, perfume website) this is NOT the case. No, all images are tagged with the authors name, so what ends up REALLY happening is the popular people get their pictures voted up and that's it. It's just high-school all over again, which is a sad and tremendous waste. 
Feel free to let me know if you think I'm wrong about this (but let's face it: both of us know that I'm not).
