Afterburnerz

I love this one. I received it as a gift back in 2018 for my birthday. It's cooling, refreshing. The artical and aquatic notes make this a fresh, icy fragrance that cools you down and gives you a great, clean scent that is perfect for the office or other environs. I have put the biggest dent in this fragrance bottle of any of the bottles that I have. Even though it's not quite as memorable as the original Blue, Deep Blue, or Blue Parfum, it's a wonderful warm weather scent that more than serves its purpose.

This fragrance is masterful in the opening. It's not a clean mojito like in Torino 21. Instead, this is like a bright citrus with spearmint gum, not crushed mint leaves. The citrus sticks around for a few hours, and you get the ambroxan and the other fixatives mixed with some woodsy notes, but the ambroxan leaves a clean freshness that, while not truly aquatic, is still refreshing.

Hot weather definitely helps, as otherwise, the fresh notes are overwhelmed by ambroxan and iso-e super. I don't think this is worth retail, but if you find a 125 ml at or under 200 bucks, it's a great buy.

I wish I had written this before the release of the new Blue Parfum, because until I'd smelled that, this was my favorite iteration of Polo Blue. That notwithstanding, the addition of mango to this fragrance, along with the crystal fizz accord, along with some of the more woody elements in the base, really make this a great modern interpretation of the original DNA.

You get a great citrus opening that is cooling, and you get a robust base that includes evergreen and woody notes.

This is by far the best Aventus inspiration that I've tried. The pineapple is bright, and the musk and vanilla in the dry down are great, and the ambergris/ambroxan is fresh and watery. There isn't a ton of birch and smoke, but the oakmoss is there. If you want the best of both worlds, just layer this one with a smokier batch and you have the ultimate Aventus.

I got Ralph Lauren Romance when I was in 10th grade in High School. I remember it smelling wonderful, and it was my signature scent all through school. I moved on to other scents after I got to college, but this has always been one that brings back wonderful memories. I wore it to senior prom, so I'll always have those memories. It's a great copy, and it instantly brings all of those back.
