The icing on the cake
What did I bite my teeth out on that perfume! I've known him for 30 years. I've always found him fascinating. Even at the age of 17 - and that even though the advertising campaign did not appeal to me at all: the crassly hard and accurately made-up woman with hat and gloves and fat jewellery was as likeable to me as Joan Collins as the head witch of the Denver clan: very present, but extremely distanced and cold in her effect.
In the Stone Age, even teenagers used to buy magazines to develop their style. They started off with Bravo Girl or Mädchen, later on Cosmopolitan or Vogue. The latter was already a purchase, but there were also great samples :-)
Despite my early interest in the world of fragrances, Paloma Picasso fell through the ranks as a potential test candidate:
This heavily made-up and gloved woman with hat and bling I found as likeable as Joan Collins in her role as the head witch of the Denver clan! Not only zero identification potential, but direct rejection.... Until..., yes, until I was allowed to own a miniature of the fragrance and then I had chosen art as my high school diploma. There is no way around Picasso ;-)
Flacon (miniature!): a black ring framing a glass ball, I found innovative and stylish at times!
Contents: it generated ambivalent emotions in me. The harsh, mossy prelude goes right through to the sinuses: Oha, really strict! Absolutely not a girl (that was obvious), but also not female or feminine. But after a few minutes a fragrance composition comes out that I simply find exciting: flowers that don't scream "female", spices that don't come across as gourmand. A very strange interplay that makes me addicted. I can't decipher the riddle, it fires my imagination: great!
But where in my life does the fragrance fit in except on the shelf in the bottle?
Not only do I want to smell it, but I want to wear it. I do, but mostly just for me.
Paloma Picasso can look terribly artificial if it is only carried in front of you as a work of art and does not merge with the wearer (I sign unisex) to form a unity.
I have owned a half-full oval bottle from 1999 for some time now, but I haven't executed it for a long time, because until now I didn't know how to combine it, it always looked out of place.
But now I've got it:
my Paloma outfit consists of a slim-fit black crepe blouse with henley neckline, dark blue skinny jeans, cognac-coloured belt and matching brown boots (flat heel, but not rough) Hair: just don't do your hair strictly, but wear it open with slight waves.
Make-up: yes, but rather discreet and natural!
A clear, simple line, lightened up by natural feminine accents, that's the look that Paloma Picasso gives the perfect finish to: the icing on the cake that breathes life into the classic "can't go wrong" outfit.

And so I would go dancing with her :-)

1919 for 2020... not yesterday's!
Since I soon have the vintage versions of my favorite fragrances from my youth and early adult years together, the hunting ground had to be expanded. I first dealt with "vintage perfumes", by which I mean perfumes that appeared in the birth year of my loved ones. But during my studies I continued to drift away: Which perfume is the oldest, which perfume houses have been on the market for how long? I came from Höcksken to Stöcksken... are there any of the old creations left on the market?
So I ended up with Guerlain, studied your comments and statements about Jicky, L'Heure Bleu and Mitsouko. All three make me incredibly curious, but somewhere you have to start and the lot fell on the latter.
You can find the reason for this in the title above :-D
New Year's Eve is just around the corner, we've been planning the party for a long time, motto 20/20.
i was ahead of time to move on to 2020???? la, got something!
So I'm off to check out the perfumeries in my town. And indeed, one (!) of them had Mitsouko and his tester on the shelf.

I sprayed Mitsouko directly on my wrist and seconds later I could guess what the top note would be.

The top note starts like a drumbeat, glistening bright. Oha, that kicks right into the central nervous system. Bergamot and citrus fruits act like a cold shower, a wake-up call that demands all your attention. This lightness and clarity does step back, but remains in the core and, gives the fragrance a subtle coolness, This coolness does not make you shiver, it rather seems to open the airways, to free the head. As if, after a long time spent in a room overcrowded with people, one would finally step oxygen out of each other. I hope you understand what I mean. I don't mean the "Fisherman's Friends" effect, just the feeling of fresh, oxygen-rich air flowing back into the lungs. This effect is then maintained by a well-dosed pinch of cinnamon and spices. But here a Christmas market scent or even spicy Chai-Latte aroma does not develop at all. These spices are all in all so flattering, so extremely soft, as I have never smelled them before. Apart from the clearly definable cinnamon note, no other spices appear clearly definable to me, yet they are there. Mitsouko has for my sensation an oriental note, which is very soft, round and minimally sweet. Add to that a chord of flowers. Between all this the peach floats, peers out, withdraws again... often I can only guess at it, but not grasp it. Mitsouko gets depth from woody notes that at least on my skin don't seem scratchy green. Again and again the different themes emerge in the course of the fragrance. This is so exciting, so complex without knocking over. I find him absolutely WOW.

Unfortunately I lack the words to better describe this effect, but he reminds me of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" of 1924. Gershwin declared it a "musical experiment" that combines traditional symphonies with modern jazz. Until today the Rhapsody in Blue is one of the most played pieces. Because it goes under people's skin. Whoever gets involved with it, takes it, better, sweeps it away. Just like Mitsouko: Mitsouko is grounded and seduced, makes you dream and feel lively....
I wonder if Gershwin saw his role model in Guerlain Yeah, I know, pretty far-fetched. What both creators have in common is the following thought: Do not demonize the good of tradition, but keep it alive through the new, stand in the here and now, look to the future. That is and remains modern!

I would like to close with my music example and am curious whether you will find more.
Do you have a good quarter of an hour? Yes? Okay, then. Let the music work its magic on you
If you like, look for a comfortable couch, put your feet up, close your eyes, listen and follow the music. For me Mitsouko feels like this.

About champagne and sensuality
I will explain this association below, until then I ask for patience and some understanding for the spreading of my scent past :-)

Background:
Deci Dela crossed my path in the '90s. Back then, at the beginning of the 90s, Jil Sanders Sun was at the top of the hit list of summer fragrances - it smelled like it at every corner. I liked the scent and I owned it at first, but with time it was no longer individual enough for me. An alternative had to be
...here. Laura by Laura Biagiotti, at that time still quite new on the market, already owned my girlfriend, crap :-/ Then there was novh Eden by Cacharel: at that time an ambivalent fragrance for me. On the one hand I was enchanted by the bright floral chords, on the other hand I found the green scent components pungent and sharp. Too risky for my tight budget.
And then Deci Dela crossed my path. It smelled so completely different from what the mainstream did, namely fruity, flowery, cheerful and unweighted. I know I got a lot of compliments for Deci Dela. My bottle accompanied me through two summers, but was then replaced by Benetton's Tribù... a gift. So I didn't buy Deci Dela any more, because I couldn't afford new perfumes all the time. For me, every single fragrance was always a luxury; perfumes were mainly Christmas or birthday gifts. And not always went and go wishes come true ;-)

Deci Dela, I forgot the name, but I didn't forget the playful bottle. In the last months I have gone on a rarity hunt: once again sniffing at the treasures (!) of the past. While browsing and researching Deci Dela occurred to me again, although I haven't thought about it for a long time. It took some lateral thinking to get the name back on my screen. Probably I first had to tick off the perfume of Donna Karan and Cristobal of Balenciaga on my retro wish list to uncover the memory of other nostalgia fragrances.

So, now I've got a miniature, the Concentree.
It's a pity that I didn't remember until now, because besides my retrotour on the net in the past weeks I also searched for an "everlasting" summer scent. Thanks to Parfumo I've also found what I was looking for.

But now I am completely off my game, because Deci Dela is the absolute highlight for me, which connects nostalgia with the "here and now".
Do you know the Jules Mumm advertisement, in which a few young women, dressed lightly, sit together, nibble grapes and drink their champagne. A man's voice calls from offstage, admonishes - I believe - to leave. The girls are laughing: no, not now, it's just too nice...
I think Deci Dela reflects this carefree mood! It tickles and exhilarates, is fruity and tangy, not sticky and sweet, not heavy or even pompous, but has the stamina that most summer fragrances lack. All the fruits and flowers are harmoniously matched, so Deci Dela doesn't just smell like fruit baskets. The flowers don't stand out too much, they blend into the scent. I most clearly notice a sweet rose and frescoes, altogether it is light flowers that make the perfume shine. Juicy raspberries and I suspect also red currants together with light peach form the fruity component. It is sweet, but not synthetic, not sticky sweet. The charming thing is this balance of acidity and the natural sweetness of fresh fruit. This makes the fragrance tingly and incredibly refreshing. Besides, Deci Dela is pleasantly powdery, but it doesn't dust a bit! In my opinion, Deci Dela is not elegant, not champagne, but by no means trivial teenage water! The depth of this magical creation is provided by a very natural, almost unsweet vanilla, which is joined by sandalwood and patchouli. The components of the base note do not push themselves forward, they rather have the effect of the pinch of salt in the cake dough and underline the lightness of the fragrance composition.
Chypre? Not with this variant. There's no scratching in the nose here.
All in all Deci Dela looks cheerful, carefree, vetspielielt, innocent, sensual and therefore quite sexy to me. It is not a lascivious fragrance that is beguiling with its subtle eroticism, or one that is preceded by an eroticism like a figurehead. Deci Dela reminds us of the radiant, disarming laughter of a man whose heart is just overflowing with happiness. The most beautiful thing there can be about a human being!
Nevertheless, this perfume is complex enough to be worn by women beyond the age of 30, 40, 50 .... without appearing silly: Happiness knows no age!
It fits well into everyday life in a sparingly dosed way and applied a little more courageously, it's perfect for parties, but in my opinion not for opera balls.
Deci Dela is therefore not a classic Wummser, with whose Sillage one communicates his arrival to his whole environment. The Sillage remains relatively close to the body, radiating just enough to be perceived by people approaching you a little closer, standing or sitting next to you. And I think that's really good! But he keeps this level up for several hours before it fades.

Deci Dela hit me hard, obviously stronger than almost 25 years ago! I wonder now how I could ever forget the name.
So how do I get supplies??? Fatal matter :-/

Heieiei, dear spouse of the gods, I apologize already now for the fact that I will thumb through the net even more intensively soon than before. After all, it is the first vintage that you like and that doesn't let you turn up your nose! Your nose on my neck, I'll give you anything for that :-D

From plastic loop brooches, plastic fashion jewelry and plastic baskets in all colors
Flashback at its best: today I was thinking that my earliest interest in "perfume" (well) was these three colorfully dotted Pülleken. They stood pretty next to each other in the drugstore department of our district department store and I stood with longing looks in front of the colorful packaging and tested shamefacedly... Price: unaffordable for me at that time (10 DM?). So retreat to the stationery department and off to the fragrance pens... I was 12/13 years old at the time :-D
At that time, the district fair, in particular the "caterpillar - with roof", also exerted a great attraction: for the first time not because of the roundabouts, but because of the boys. So my girlfriends and I drappierten us as casually as possible at the preferred rides, bounced to the then brand-new cover version of "Reet petite" and hoped, waited, drove a round, stood again leaning against the railing stupidly around, listened to the next songs, talked and cackled around. Nothing helped anything: the boys didn't come over :-D
So take a ride around the fair and spend the last money on a few tickets. Katja won one of these trendy plastic shopping baskets in squeaky pink, Birgit a few megafette plastic earrings in light blue.... i'm nothing. Ah, I found 1 Mark in my pocket, so I went to the next stand to buy some consolation: 1 red "brooch" with white dots for my jeans jacket made of lacquer foil in loop form. So, heal the world again!
And on the next day off again after "Wortmann", admire glitter and fragrance pens and test again which of the three Betrix fragrances is the most beautiful. Theoretically the pink, because the color was simply the most beautiful. And with the scent, I was sure, this one nice boy from the class above me would notice me too.... Those were my thoughts while falling asleep ;-)
... i never had the scent! I don't know how he smelled anymore, but he was a longing for a while.... and I remember this very well!

PS: later I got a guy without this perfume ;-)

A croissant with vanilla and yogurt, please!
In the last few years I have hardly ever owned perfumes that are or were suitable for summer. I have a tendency to use fragrances that belong to the autumn/winter category. My favourite for warm summer days in the recent years was the fragrance line "Sakura" from Rituals: an exhilarating light cherry blossom fragrance, unfortunately without the corresponding fragrance to the shower foam and body cream.
And then there is another body oil that I also like very much - the almond blossom body oil from Kneipp. Kneipp's image is not exactly the same as that of many well-known perfume manufacturers, but I can only say: don't be deterred ;-) The almond oil exudes a subtle sweetness, is gourmandig and soft, but also light and close to the body. I have rather dry skin, so both body cream and oil are well absorbed, but with higher
Temperatures are getting critical for me too. In the summer and especially during the day I don't want to wear perfumes that are almost ahead of me or with which I scent other people. It really doesn't have to be that you collectively put an office document into a coma ;-)
I love Wummser, by the way... but everything has its place and its time.

So and at this point I would like to lead you to "Emozione". It's after "Live in Love" by Oscar de la Renta (I really like it very much) my second "Summer Scent New Creation". Somehow something was missing to change. I ordered "Emozione" after studying the comments on this page. In a statement I first wrote that the suede in the fragrance pyramid made me very curious. I was told that suede was virtually non-existent. Now, after the arrival of my bottle, I have to agree and say that I can't recognize any suede either. Still: the first sprayer, wait 1 minute and then ..... a for me really wonderfully pleasant spring and summer scent, mega soft and gentle, not too sweet: fully pleasant. The naming, and this is confirmed here many times, fits! I think it's something for less hot weather conditions: During the day it's pleasantly warm, blue skies and sunshine just put you in the best of moods, no oppressive air, you just feel dynamic and good. A day for a walk to the ice cream parlour! And there the choice falls on refreshing yoghurt, slightly sour and light and then comes vanilla, because with the fading sun it gets cooler, the tied jacket is now thrown over and now it goes on with vanilla. It melts creamy on the tongue, just tastes homey and very childish. This is also how I feel about Emozione: the initial freshness of bergamot, peach and iris shines as bright as the sun, followed by the pudgy creaminess, which does not come from vanilla, but whose effect is very similar because it is so soft and sweet :-) Luckily she's not too cute!

What do I now have to contribute on the fragrance level that has not already been written? Well, let's see.....
Perhaps another contribution to the feeling of "I know the smell, it's familiar to me". I don't think I can figure out a cross-reference for that. Emozionen reminds me in its base note of the "Kneipps almond blossom oil" already mentioned above and that in turn reminds me of smells that I associate with my childhood. I still remember today that even as a peck in our district department store in the perfume corner, I sprayed "White Musk" from 'habdennamenvergessen' on again and again, admired it and considered it unattainable due to the pocket money factor
The memory of fragrance, whether truthful depiction or falsified nostalgia, already has enormous effects. The smells may not be identical, but they are similar - and act on some area, at least in my brain, which signals: be relaxed, the world is healed, everything is good! Emozione's picking me up!

Unfortunately Emozione disappears with me incredibly fast :-/ ... crazy fast!
Is my nose blunted by the worm, or am I odorless? Is it my skin?
The fact that Emozione has a rather mediocre shelf life is confirmed here several times, but my heart note lasts perhaps one hour, altogether nothing is perceptible after 2 hours. Well, I don't think that's much.

Addendum: The spray that comes out of my bottle is extremely fine. If I take more, then it works with the mediocre durability ;-)

I think Emozione is beautiful, even though he doesn't "boom". It feels like a cashmere jacket that does not scratch, that is neither too elegant nor too casual and neither too warm nor too cold.
In the meantime I was already at the ice cream parlour :-)
Sigh, I spray again - as the icing on the cake for an emotional evening!
