Unpleasant Date
My first impression was actually positive.
We were just getting to know each other, and I found it somehow fruity with a special note that I couldn't quite place at first.
I perceived sweet fruits and saffron.
However, the fruits here are synthetic, almost gum-like. I didn’t initially perceive that as negative.
But then I directly associated the scent with a piece of gum that has been stuck under a dark, heavy wooden table since the 80s.
Slightly musty, but still sweet. I mean, gum doesn’t go bad that quickly.
Which brings us to the next point.
Once I got past the “oh, this scent is somehow beautiful and special” and “oh, something is really bothering me about this scent,” the next stage began: nausea.
When we got closer and I applied it to my skin, it was over. I just felt sick from this scent. This musty sweetness combined with the oud. Something about this scent reminds me of saliva, bringing us back to the chewed gum stuck to the table.
At that point, I knew, okay, this isn’t going to work out for us. But he will find the right one.
Postscript:
I’ve realized that I just don’t like oud. If you enjoy the scent of oud, you might want to check this one out. I’m just saying, I simply wasn’t the right one :D.

Casual Elegance
This fragrance is my casual perfume that always works. To me, it smells elegant, fine, bright, and unobtrusive.
Libre is fruity, floral, fresh, and sweet, but never too much.
In the opening, the scent is floral-fresh, and I can distinctly but subtly smell the mandarin.
As it develops, the freshness of lavender joins in.
My best friend found the scent on me to be quite masculine.
I also think it is a play of feminine and masculine fragrance notes, but overall it still smells rather feminine to me.
If I had to personify the scent, I would imagine a casually yet elegantly dressed woman or a feminine man who wears subtle gold jewelry and is surrounded by a very pleasant, friendly, and confident aura.
The musk in the base is very subtle here; I perceive it as not animalistic at all. The vanilla smells really delicate here, and together with the white flowers, it integrates beautifully into the overall composition.

Abstract Art in a Bottle
If I had to compare a fragrance to an abstract artwork, it would be This is not a Blue Bottle 1.1.
Just the bottle! It is simple yet beautiful and special, fitting perfectly with the overall concept of this scent.
The bottle comes in different sizes; the 60 ml bottle, for example, is just the 120 ml bottle cut in half in the middle. Genius!
Then there's the name "This is not a Blue Bottle." Contradictory, just like the fragrance itself.
Upon spraying, you first get a burst of aldehydes and orange. I find it hard to describe how I perceive this top note because I have never smelled anything like it before.
Somehow sweet, zesty, piercing, bitter, fruity.
Definitely unique and certainly not for everyone. This fragrance is abstract, elusive, and definitely not a crowd-pleaser. It is neither masculine nor feminine.
Longer on the skin, the musk really comes to the forefront, forming a balsamic-herbaceous yet also animalic-sweet base note with amber and patchouli.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no
I initially had a sample of Avant L'Orage and found it so good that I ordered the bottle during a discount promotion.
In hindsight, I wouldn't have bought it again, as I don't wear it as often compared to my other fragrances and I don't like it as much as my other perfumes.
I really have to be in the mood for the scent, but it does happen from time to time (maybe it's just the guilty conscience that I bought it now :D)
As some of my predecessors have noted, this scent unfortunately has the potential to annoy.
However, I don't find it extremely sweet; what bothers me more is that it smells a bit uneven for my taste.
As if the fragrance notes don't quite fit together or harmonize.
This impression also depends on my mood; sometimes I like it better, sometimes worse.
The individual fragrance components generally hit my taste exactly.
However, I feel that none of them really stands out here or comes into its own to create a wow effect for me.
The vanilla is quite subdued (which is a pity, as I love vanilla scents), the musk is too car-centered for me, and the jasmine is only sweet here; I miss the floral aspect.
I can well imagine that I will part with the bottle someday… maybe… because somehow it is still quite sweet :D

1992 - an excellent vintage
Because I was born in this year. And that's why I had to test it, of course.
About the scent:
So first I smell mandarin - it pairs directly with the tuberose.
So nothing fresh here, rather sweet.
In the drydown, leather and tobacco come in, and together they really round out the scent for me.
It smells like a sweet, sexy party fragrance. Does it fit the year 1992? No idea, I’m probably too young for that.
But what a wild scent!
And can we please talk about this bottle? I just find it too beautiful.
