To the True, Beautiful, Good
Spoiler: The Attar of Alex II will be the only Xerjoff I review.

The thing with Xerjoff…
Basically, one must admit that Xerjoff really produces great fragrances.
Interestingly, I still don't feel the urge to buy bottles from there.
The bottles I currently own are exclusively leftover bottles with small amounts.
The exception here was the Alex II Attar, which actually triggered a (successful) desire to purchase.

Alex II as a Perfume

I got to know Alex II as a perfume relatively late. I will never forget my first impression of the scent, as my jaw literally dropped in the perfumery. To this day, no other fragrance has achieved this.
Why do I still "only" own a leftover bottle? I don't know when I should wear it.
Even a single spray hits me harder than any other perfume. Too intense for an evening on the sofa
and even when going out, you can smell this scent for hours throughout the entire room.
I am truly not a child of sadness and I like to provoke to be in the spotlight. But to leave this solely to the fragrance? No!

Alex II as an Attar

With a bit more experience, I dared to try the Attar. Folks, I just can't handle it.
It goes even deeper, even though I mainly perceive only Oud and Amber in both versions.
The essential difference is not only the depth but also the lack of a sledgehammer effect.
I perceive the Attar more intimately on my skin, and the longevity is about 6 hours, significantly (really significantly) less than the spray version.
Some users might find this bothersome, but for me, it is perfect for an evening full of happiness with the Attar and myself. Some treasures are simply not meant to be shared with others.

I have a complaint regarding the change of the bottle:
The old bottle of the Attar was simply perfect; I have no idea what got into Xerjoff to change it (we'll see each other in hell!!!).

The Extraordinary
Basmati Rose was one of the few fragrances that I ordered blindly based solely on the scent pyramid
because I just couldn't imagine what it would be like.

In general, I have a simple pattern with Sultan Pasha Attars:
I either love them or completely reject them. This attar falls into the love category.

The name Basmati Rose is programmatic!
If someone had told me before trying the attar that I would absolutely love smelling like Basmati rice,
I would have given them a disbelieving look.
For the first few minutes, this scent dominates absolutely.
Gradually, the roses come to the forefront, reaching their absolute peak on the skin after about 1.5 hours,
exploding in a formal floral splendor.
At this point, the fragrance also becomes very feminine for a short time, but one should not be deterred by that.
After about 2 hours, the final scent phase begins, a distinct blend of honey and amber.

This final scent phase is the only reason why the attar does not receive my full score,
as one has experienced this often enough in other creations.
Nevertheless, it is very pleasant and has a warm, joyful finish.

In contrast to other attars, this one is rather mild (sillage) and therefore more suitable for everyday wear.

I would like to recommend Basmati Rose, especially for beginners, due to its clear scent progression
or for the curious who want to join the club of Basmati rice fragrance (sign up today!).

Eye of the Storm
Do you know the scene from the movie Titanic, where Guggenheim and Astor put on their tuxedos
to go down like gentlemen with a brandy in hand?

Nowadays, I wonder what perfume the two of them would wear.
I feel a strong connection to both of them. If I knew that everything would be over tomorrow, the biggest swap would probably be replacing the brandy with a whisky.

I live in a valley. High up there is a bench
that offers an indescribably beautiful view of the city and the surrounding nature.
I would sit there. In a tuxedo, with whisky and Diaghilev.

And when everything comes to an end and one can simply answer the question "Was that it?" with "Yes, and it's okay."

Diaghilev radiates calm and stability. Not for beginners.

A masterpiece.

You dirty little whore…
Dionisio is both angel and devil.

The scent starts off powerful; for the first 5-10 minutes, I feel like I'm being pushed against a wall, with no way to throw out a lifeline.

Amber and musk are clearly and distinctly noticeable, and once the fragrance stabilizes,
you want to lie down on the blanket spread out in front of a fireplace with a glass of red wine and a partner.

After about 4-5 hours, the wicked vanilla also emerges, giving the fragrance a completely new animalistic and spicy character. By now, an erotic fireworks display begins,
culminating in unrestrained lust and total surrender…
