Much more than just "fancy soap"
As someone who prefers scents are more personal over the kind that announce themselves to the whole room -- Orphéon is perfection. Clean, powdery, and sophisticated, with a light, floral sweetness to it, but without leaning toward laundry, and with a woody base underneath. It's so well blended that it's difficult to think of an example of what this smells like. I've seen people describe it as really fancy soap and while i do get that, i also feel it doesnt quite do it justice. Airy, creamy, smooth, luxurious. Orphéon is soap the same way a thunderstorm is rain. Every time i break this out i wonder why i dont wear it more often.
I havent smelled the edp version so i cant speak to how they compare, but from what i gather the solid leans slightly more woody/powdery, but less spicy, and as expected the longevity and sillage is lower, but i personally find that to be a plus rather than an issue. It becomes a more subtle scent, more for yourself than anything else, but still lingers nicely on skin and clothes. Lasts the whole day without issue, and i usually catch a whiff of this on my shirt the day after.
The compact itself is stunning and surprisingly heavy. It, and the refills, cost a fraction of what a full bottle would so it's nice that the packaging is still good quality and made to last. All in all a budget friendly, and more than worth the price, option.

Scent of the summer
This has been my go-to for summer two years in a row. It's minty, slightly herbal, and almost a bit musky. Simple, but far from JUST mint. Super nice and refreshing, especially on warm days. Feels like going for an early morning swim in the ocean or coming inside after a long day out in the sun and taking a nice, cool shower.
I went through a full solid over the course of the summer with pretty much everyday use and while it does sit a pretty close to the skin and only stays a couple hours at most, the pros of the solid is that it's easy to bring with you and refresh during the day if you want, which i feel is a fair tradeoff at this price.
