Familiar
I've never thought of myself as the ultimate authority on beachy aquatic fragrances. This particular genre is my least favorite type fragrance out of all but aquatics do indeed have their place to sit on my dresser. Most aquatics I have smell kinda the same so there's no mystery there. The fragrance itself set me back a whooping $9 too!! As a collector I just could not ignore it. It came within 3 days of purchase so the seller will get a positive review which is always nice.

The bottle is good looking which always helps and the performance is typical of an aquatic scent which is mediocre at best it does smell nice but it's not earth shattering nor is it inventive. Just another so so aquatic that I got a very good deal on

Versatile
I'll tell u this. Even though it was launched in 1987 during the nuclear age of perfumerie, this is not what I'd call a big time smash mouth masculine monster. What it is is a smooth creamy sleek masculine with very subtle feminine touches that surface every now and then. Make no mistake this is a MAN'S scent it's just a much more modern, sleek, mature and silky smooth offering from Alain Delon and it's simply beautiful and glorious and it also truly has a beginning middle and end with the base being the highlight of the fragrance. I'm not sure if it's worth the almost $300.00 I paid for it but boy is this a work of art. There's NOTHING on the shelves today that can even come close.

Cold weather sensation
Believe it or not Layton is the first and only fragrance to grace my shelf from Parfums de Marly. Don't ask me why I haven't purchased others from this house cuz I have no answers. However this scent has catapulted to the top of my favorites so I'll definitely be checking out the other offerings from them. The performance is nuclear and stays on clothing not for hours, but for DAYS.

When it comes to fragrances I do not discriminate I investigate. I have a somewhat huge collection of Ll kinds of fragrances consisting of top drawer, current, vintage and drug store economical juices. Layton is a masculine leaning unisex beauty that'll look wonderful sandwiched between other long time classics. I also received a great deal on it as I paid only $50.00! This one is a winner IMO so I'm happy I finally pulled the trigger

Classic
This fragrance definitely takes me back to a time when masculine fragrances had an identity. Green and mean with all day performance. This is in the neighborhood of past heavyweights as Tsar from Van Cleef and Arpels and Drakkar Noir from Guy Laroche to name just a couple. I'm not sure how the younger crowd would take this as it doesn't smell like a candy bar or chocolate ice cream. How revolting IMO. Manuel Cross is exactly what a collector like myself needs because I came out of the 1970's and 80's. and, although I have my fair share of modern fragrances, I much prefer the tried and true vintages. Grey Flannel, Halston Z-14 and Pierre Cardin is much more my speed and Bon Monsieur fits just right in between. When people get a whiff of this they may mistake this for Drakkar Noir or Tsar Pour Homme because it reminds me of both. That being said, Rogue Perfumery hit it out of the park with this one and I'm very happy to own a bottle. It's only a 30ml so until I purchase a backup I think I'll only wear it rather sparingly.

A different era
Indeed the 1960's were a decade of change in lotsa ways. One of those ways was men's fragrances. Around this time fragrances we're slowly starting to be geared towards men, albeit slowly. Spiedel was the company that introduced Bravura to store shelves and masculine it definitely was. Oakmoss aplenty here as you can point it out quite easily among others. This is an economical good old fashioned scent where a little goes a while and somewhere my deceased grandfather is smiling because I can easily see him slapping this on all over. This nice thick and musky earthy juice looks kinda off a bit standing next to Creed and Tom Ford but as a collector of vintages it looks jusssssssst fine.
