Witty Spicy Childhood Memories
Nutmeg and Ginger Nutmeg and Ginger
I don't know who else remembers the old wooden kitchen cabinets with
a small door behind which several glass drawers held the spices,
two large ones for sugar and salt, and several small ones for other spices, including
a whole nutmeg with a mini grater, which was then grated over mashed potatoes, for example.
The whole compartment smelled of that nutmeg when the door was opened.
Nutmeg and Ginger starts with a strong citrus note from the ginger, which fades relatively quickly. Then the nutmeg makes its appearance, indeed accompanied by a slight cream note, but it does not remind me of Nivea.
So let's imagine: The wooden kitchen cabinet has been emptied and thoroughly washed, and in the spice compartment, there remains this light hint of nutmeg, just like some tea varieties leave behind in the cupboard.
The cabinet is sold, and the new owner uses the drawers for their day cream, which also leaves a corresponding hint of fragrance in the compartment; that’s how Nutmeg and Ginger smells to me.
Very unusual, but not unpleasant, so let’s say not
Nivea cream but nutmeg cream.

A noble hint of nothing, merging with the skin, only perceivable as a whisper, beautiful
I also had the pleasure of trying a sample of Jifat, thank you for that.
This perfume belongs to the category of close-to-skin, merging, barely perceivable even at
10 cm, noble and beautiful like the hint of an expensive body lotion. Unfortunately, it is very fleeting on me.
Rarely for me, but it could be a bit stronger even for me.
Once again, this is for those who want to smell good up close without actually
smelling perfumed, category: do you use perfume or does your skin
smell that good.
That's how I perceive it, anyway.
I must add something here. I have now sprayed Iperborea on my wrist in a quiet little room for three evenings and let it develop, and I have now realized that the last base note that remains on my skin is jasmine. Of course, it is listed in the fragrance pyramid, but in the base, everyone has something different left. This jasmine scent is very delicate and has a light sweetness, perhaps from the orange blossom, nothing sticky
vanilla-like. I never would have thought that I would like jasmine so much, considering I usually only like violets and freesias.
One more note, after I took a break for weeks because testing became too much for me, my sense of smell has changed; I no longer perceive it as weak as I did at the beginning, it remains my favorite, such a clear, fresh, clean scent.

Soap Coma
I got this fragrance because it was recommended to me as a clean scent fan on the hunt for soap fragrances.
Upon the first spray, I instinctively hold my breath due to the piercing aldehydes, barely able to grasp the clear thought of how one could willingly perfume themselves with this, when after about 15 seconds the aldehydes start to agree to smell slowly like soap.
I gently slide into a soap coma, and when I remember where I am again after 10 minutes, I think, this is not an eau de toilette, this is an
eau ultimate intense. It smells like soap, soap, soap, and when you try to mix it with a floral scent, the soap successfully overwhelms all the timidly peeking flowers. I take it to spray on a card that I place in the bathroom, where it leaves a hint of soap scent in the room. I don’t find it really bad, but incredibly intense, and
even a spritz I can still smell on my skin after hours.
When using this, you really have to be careful with the dosage; with an overdose, you might even scare away vampires.
Addition: Anyone looking for a quieter, more subtle soap scent should
test Prada Infusion d'homme, a wonderfully clean smell, but still a
men's fragrance, I think, for my male counterpart - the clean scent fan.
It really smells like luxurious expensive soap and not like laundry soap.

A Tip for Clean Fragrance Fans, Finally Without Musk, Sweetness, or Fruits, Just a Mono Fragrance
In search of a clean fragrance, I somehow kept coming back to the violet note. But everything I liked was always accompanied by raspberries, blackcurrants, e.g. Jil Sander Sport with the pink lettering, Cacharel Promesse, Lanvin Eclat d'Arpege. This fruitiness seems to be popular, but I don't like it at all. Or it's sweetened with vanilla. And the variants without fruits are either aquatic or extremely
musk-heavy like Cacharel Noa, for example. This violet scent is very pleasant for me, what is still missing for a clean scent would be the soap note.
Penhaligon's Violetta goes in this direction, maybe I will decide on that. I have already tried so much through sample purchases and sniffing samples. The clean fragrances from Randi Shinder are quite nice, but they always remind me of the old FA deodorant, probably due to the high lime content, I don't find the price justified at all. I have also browsed through the clean fragrance forums here, but I rarely agree with the recommendations. One member suggested that I look more at men's fragrances, maybe that's good advice, but they usually also have that extremely aquatic note or that shaving water touch.
